Dear Madeleine, This is an extraordinary piece of sculpture! I am so impressed by its shape, with its curled edges and "coiled" midsection, and I love the colors, especially your use of the bold yellow and red/orange contrasting with the more subtle blues and purples. My Darling Madeleine, Your exquisite picture makes me think of Grandpa Russ enjoying all the sights of the ocean while he was snorkeling, which was his very favorite activity in the world. I believe that Grandpa's spirit is still there with his beloved fish and sea creatures, and I know how much he would have loved this beautiful representation of the undersea world that he so cherished. The fish on the left is so colorful that I want to reach out and touch it, and the one on the right seems like the spirit of a fish, perhaps like Grandpa's spirit. Starry Night evokes emotion, a sense of beauty and a sense of expectation for the coming day.
