Great job! Your emerging talent is becoming more and more evident. Did you know that each side of your (or anybody's) face is different. Try this - take picture of yourself and make a mirror image of it. Cut the two pictures in half, dividing your face in half. Put the left halves of your face together and do the same with the right halves. a comparison of the two composites may look like two different people. Of course, no matter how you arrange the pieces, you are still a pretty lady!

Wow! Painted, glazed and fired. Nice job! I used to enjoy ceramics myself. Once made 5 identical coffee cups for my crew with names and crew number. It was fun and challenging and everyone liked them. Someone like you can get REALLY creative with a bit of practice!

I like the color conglomeration chosen...(do you like my alliteration there?). I have yo sY that this looks similar to what my bro used to almost take out my eye!!! So i couldn't look too long. This world today is going to pot ( in more ways than one evidently)

What's the poirpose of this sculpture? Looks great. Captures action, effort and playfulness of these amazing creatures. You always seem to spot them when we are on cruises too...btw

I think a few more pieces of black tape could've prevented this house (?) from being condemned. But the contrast in colors is bold....kudos to decorator!

Not sure what to make of this so I think i'll stay NEUTRAL. That vase looks like a real ICBM!!! Did u make that too?

A very convincing strawberry. Kind of sad though, almost like she's reading a strawberry shortcake recipe that calls for sliced fruit.??

Nice work. I like the fact that the support system is attached all around. I also think it unique for a birdhous not to have walls or floor. Reminds me of relative freedom and how it covers and provides measure of protection when we don't go over our heads. At the same time you are free to express yourself and journey....or just stay perched knowing you've got potential.
-- Scott

At first glance this looks like pictures of parts of our universe I've seen. There are galaxies, nebulas, constellations, black holes, probably even a planet or two. Not sure if that's what you were going for but it inspired me to contemplate my existence. Our place in all of this really matters after all.... Or should i say anti-matters?
-- Scott

Love the art work. Looks like a fun day. "Time sure flies when your having fun!"
-- opa
Posted 9 years ago
Interesting. As I take a second and third look at this I see the three facial angles and expressions. I think this well pictures that at times it is hard to focus, concentrate or zero in on something when there are many distractions around, or many aspects to be considered- like emotions or the effect your decision will have on others
-- Scott

This reminds me of a pie chart Mckayla. A pie chart of different paths you choose in life and the reasons why. For example the brick road pattern represents logical determination and the large paisley designs remind me of the whimsical choice made on the basis of sentiment.

We'll have to talk....Not sure what the inspiration or theme was for this but it certainly is expressively eclectic for sure. I think of a slide show taken from the recesses of your mind picked out by your inner child. We'll have to talk.......

Wow! this is pretty spatial McKayla. Not only is it a cool symmetrical, kaleidoscopal design but is that your initials I see incorporated in there? Great idea! Each letter get flipped on both the X and Y axes.
-- Scott
Posted 11 years ago
McKayla: Upon first glance I saw the letters READ as buildings, skyscrapers and the scattered books as windows. This is appropriate because reading is like the windows to the world, like going somewhere, experiencing something without actually being there. And it not only is part of the foundation that our well rounded lives are built on but reading can also contribute to the structure itself. I would use your bookmark any day!

Interesting combo. Looks like horse's body with giraffe markings, dragonfly wings and head of a large flightless bird (like emu or ostrich). I'm going for emu because you know my thing about ostriches and so I'm sure you wouldn't draw an ostrich for me to look at.

Hue did a nice job McKayla. I guess it was hard to stay within the lines huh? This project reminds me of a saying that goes "Its the same thing only different!". For example, it's still yellow just with a little of this added to it (and they give it a new color name).

Not sure what to say about this one- its out of control. I have to admit the first thing I thought of was the circulatory system of the Cat in the Hat after eating green eggs and ham! Is that weird? Dad

Very colorful and uplifting. It makes me feel happy and desirous to be outside!! A veritable botanical buffet for the butterfly too.. Dad

Thank you for helping us to think of Springtime McKayla. I can see the flowers growing in a vase filled with colorful marbles but I also imagine flowers and candy..like colorful gumdrops. We can have many senses filled- admiring and smelling the beauty and aroma of the flowers and tasting the sweetness of the candy. It reminds me that the simple things in life are most important.
-- Scott
Posted 12 years ago
Thank you for showing your family how much you love them...that's special! This one is a real thinker for me. It shows that love can come from all different angles, patterns, designs...whatever it needs to be. My favorite is the last one, the four hearts in a circle. When love comes around it should go around to be meaningful. Nice job.

This is definitely a special rare snake because it looks like it has two tongues. This may mean that it is really sensitive to temperature changes! The designs on the borders give it a real southwestern flair!!

Beautiful rendition! Here are my Impressions: #1- a heart cake (love is sweet), #2- a broken or divided heart (something ALL Christians want to avoid), #3- a confused heart (perhaps bad association is pointing him/her in the wrong direction), #4- a heart of stone (not so easy to penetrate but WILL melt if enough warmth is applied), #5- a heart guarded by integrity and finally #6- reminds me of the wonderful love among our brotherhood (especially our family). WELL DONE!

McKayla, I like this piece because it is simple and uniform in shapes used yet each one has a different design (layers) on it and they are in three different directions. ths tells me that you are multidimensional, deep, layered like an onion. The three different directions indicate that you can be all over the place though, be careful! Focus! But you can connect just in different ways. DAD
-- Scott
Posted 13 years ago
I love this picture because I see M for McKayla so clearly yet all around you (your aura) there are so many different things going on. this means to me that you are a multi- faceted, interesting person. Love the shoes- Payless? DAD
