Hi Sean- I enjoyed seeing your artwork this morning. The pictograms you drew have a southwestern feel about them, I thought. Is that why you located them in the southwest part of the map? It made me think about how North American indians, and many other cultures all down through time, used pictures the way we would use written words. It's neat to think that people can write messages and and tell stories using just pictures. Boy, art is really fascinating isn't it? Uncle Floyd -- Floyd

Hi Sean - I was very interested in seeing your scarecrow picture. He's REALLY scary! I spent a lot of time looking at the face you gave him. Brrrrrr - SPOOKY! The pattern of blues and browns you did in watercolour is nicely done. That's a really neat way to show a landscape of fields. Did you have fun doing it? It was a lot of fun to see it. Thanks! Hi Sean - I just viewed your latest 4 pieces and I think you've done well. The pictures themselves are cute and a lot of fun to look at. But also I like the way you can organize the colours and shapes one to another on the page. You have a knack for what they call 'visual organization' and that's something special! Keep up the great work 'cause I wanna see more! -- Floyd

Hi Sean - I think this is a great painting! I can see how you used the painting by Monet as a jumping off point to make something entirely your own. I really love the reds and greens you chose to put together, and I personally enjoy the lively way you applied the colour. Thanks for a great treat! -- Floyd

Hi Sean Sorry I haven't posted anything for a while, Aunt Susan and I have very busy lately. I just looked at the last 4 entries of your art and I think they are great. Each one for a different reason, but they are all fun to look at and each shows a different side of your personality. Just briefly, the mask is really playful, the cookie monster is the only monster I've seen that looks like he needs a hug (I bet you really like the cookie monster), your 'Bugs Print' is really lively with lots of bounce and activity, and the trees are very strong and graphic and are focussed on the logic problem of dividing the space (personally I like the spaces between the branches, they make a nice pattern) Uncle Floyd -- Floyd

Hi Sean This art is really interesting! I've never seen seen anything painted on this kind of paper before, but I like the way it looks - what a great idea! I see you've done 2 pieces. I like the red and green one, the colours give it a lot of life, and it has a lot of interesting colour marks to look at. I think the subject you drew and the way you drew it works really well with the way the paper makes the paint spread out. Uncle Floyd -- Floyd

Hi Sean This is some drawing! I gotta say it looks like you were having a bad hair day. Sean, by any chance were you in a bad mood when you drew this? If you were, did you feel better afterward? I only ask because sometimes when I'm in a bad mood, if I can get people to leave me alone long enough to get lost in a drawing, even though I draw it really aggressively, I end up feeling better. Any way, keep on paintin', slugger. Uncle Floyd -- Floyd

Hi Sean You've drawn Jack climbing the beanstalk. I can see the beans at the bottom of the stalk, and I can see Jack climbing for all he's worth! He's really high up the beanstalk, isn't he? The story about Jack is really exciting and so is your drawing about it. But do you know what I like about it best? I like what it tells me about you. Looking at this painting I can tell you notice things. I know you made this picture up out of your imagination, but you're telling me things that you've noticed in other places. I see you've noticed that a big bright yellow sun seems to have a lot of space around it, so you put lots of white up there in the corner with the sun. And down near the ground, under the leaves you've made it cool and shady and inviting with your green wash of paint. You've made the plant grow up toward the sun, but at an angle so the leaves get lots of light. You put lots of green leaves facing the sun, and have been careful to show me the brightest side of the plant by addin

Hi Sean That's a strong, fierce looking castle you made! I like it! I know you were concentrating on making a really formidable (do you know this word? it can mean frightening) castle, but did you notice how the shapes you used divided up the page? I did and I really like it! I'm going to send you a picture I have of a stone man that your castle reminds me of. It divides up the picture frame in a nice way too. Keep on going! Hi Sean I think your gingerbread man is cute! Did you cut him out? That's a very neat job you did. I see you gave him buttons and braces and what I think look like breeches with button tabs at the knee. Ask Mom or Grandma what breeches are. I think he looks like he's singing with his mouth wide open and his head tossed back. I think he must like to sing. Is that the way you sing, Sean? Do you like to sing? Uncle Floyd -- Uncle Floyd

Hi Sean Neat snowman. I like the eyes. Do you think he looks like he's wearing sunglasses? Hey! Wouldn't it be neat to make him into a COOL GUY snowman? What would you do to make him cool? You know, sometimes you just gotta have fun when you make art. Uncle Floyd -- Uncle Floyd

Hi Sean I like your pinch pot. Did you have fun making it? I like making pinch pots because they are easy and fun to do. I think what I like best about your pot is the decorating on the outside. Looks good, buddy! Uncle Floyd -- Uncle Floyd

Well! This surely looks like a scaredy cat! I think it is the way you did the eyes and mouth that helps him look scared and surprised. And the way you made his (is it a 'he'?) fur go in all directions as if it's standing up like a cat's fur does when it's frightened. How do you think you would you draw a happy cat? Uncle Floyd
