Wow Bennett, This looks like it is popping right out at me. Is it 3-D or does it just look that way? Hope you're having fun making all these beautiful art projects. I sure do love seeing them.

Bennett, you probably don't realize how close this design is to some of the quilt patterns I find. Actually this design would make into a beautiful quilt. Can you picture it made out of pretty fabric, all stitched together and spread out on your bed? I can. The 3-D look is very effective.

I love your Kachina doll. When we went on a trip out west one of the hotels we stayed in had a display of Kachina dolls and I have pictures of them. Are you learning about Native Americans?

I'm wondering if your creature is a ghost that got lost after Halloween or one of the many snowmen that cropped up in lawns all over Wisconsin this year. Maybe you had something else in mind? Cute!!

Goodness, now you are designing cans. Before long you will be selling your ideas and making lots of money.

A fish? You had better not let Kai and Carter see this guy. They like to catch fish--any fish, anytime, anywhere. Love you.

Wow! This is beautiful!! I had a kalidiscope when I was young, and I loved to make all the wonderful designs change. The only way to get them to look this bright was to hold the kalidiscope up to the sunlight.

I have always loved the beautiful bark on birch trees. You certainly captured the look. What is the bright light in the distance? Is it a snowmobile approaching, the sun setting or a young boy walking through the woods with a flashlight to guide the way? I think it is YOU coming to see me!!

What a beautiful geometric star--just in time for Christmas! This is certainly pretty enough to put on the top of your tree.

Well, would you look at that! It always amazes me that you can do such grown-up work in art class. You'll have to teach me how to do this negative/positive art. This particular piece looks like a chess set. Love you. Gramma

Now this is very interesting. You put so much detail in your artwork, Bennett. I'd love to hear you tell what it all means. Art is different in other countries, isn't it? How nice you are learning so many things about other cultures.

You know, Bennett, if I had created a picture this nice in high school, I'd have been very proud. You do lovely art projects. Keep up the good work. Gramma

Bennett, I love your shattered shamrocks. I hope you had a great St. Patrick's Day and the leprechaun didn't cause too much trouble.

If this had a stick at the bottom, it would look like an all-day sucker. H-mmm, think how good that would taste!

Bennett, Is this watercolor art? I've always wanted to learn how to do that. My favorite sun is the first one in the top left hand corner. He seems so happy. I know I'm happy when the sun is shining. Aren't you? Love you. Gramma

O-o-o-o Bennett, your "positive and negative" art looks scary and yet it has beauty at the same time. I'll bet it was fun to make. You'll have to show me your technique sometime. Love you! Gramma

Beautiful, Bennett!! I didn't know you knew what abstract art was, and here you are producing it. I love to look at it to see if I can see anything in the picture. I think I see two snakes and a fish with a big green eye. What do you see? Keep up the good work. Love, Gramma

Bennett, this must be a picture of Chicago with its sky-high buildings. My town doesn't have any big buildings like these. You've captured them very well. Gramma

Bennett, you really captured the look of a tree in winter. I especially like the addition of a squirrel, a red bird and a blue bird. Way to go!!

How cute! This guy looks like he is wearing a sombrero and he's getting ready to do a Mexican dance. Did your class put on a little puppet show with the stick men?

What a great rendition of a tree in summertime! It won't be long until the looks of that tree change. Do you know what it will look like in a week or so? Trees can tell us what season it is, can't they?

I love the snow in your winter picture, Bennett. We don't get any snow in Florida, so I need your artwork to remind me what it looks like. Thanks.
