Oh, now it makes sense why you chose to make a pencil in this project. You were supposed to make an enlarged object. You did a great job. It was fun wasn't it.

Wow, great job on the sculpting, Sarah! I bet that pencil would last a long, long time!

Great job on your perspective drawing. I don't think I worked on perspective until I was in 7th grade at least. And of course it was not very good. As you know, art is not my best subject!

Ok, for those of you reading, this is no where near finished! I don't know why her teacher put this on. They made their own wood framed canvases in art troupes. All she had time for was painting the background of her painting. She finished it at home and made a beautiful picture on her red backdrop.
-- Love, Mom
- on June 7, 2012
What a lovely color and texture! It's very eye catching! Nice job, Sarah!
-- Uncle Mike
- on June 7, 2012
Nice job! I know it is all red but I can see the slight variations of light and dark. What were you trying to express in this one? Very nice!
-- Auntie Liz
- on June 7, 2012
This might be how the sun looked as Venus crossed it. Interesting how it appears to have a reflection in the middle, but I think that's where you added white to the red. Nice.

Very nice Sarah. I like how you chose many colors for the letters. It's fun to see the glaze colors after they get fired. It's always like a fun surprise since they look different then when you paint them.

Great job, Sarah! I had never seen any of Dale Chihuly's work before, so I googled it. Wow! You really did a great job of creating your sculpture in his style. Any time you've done a piece of art that was inspired by a famous artist's style, you always do it wonderfully.
-- Uncle Mike

What a great jellyfish, complete with twisty tentacles - or arms. Even has a rather menacing smile. Good job Sarah. I thought you might even have been to the King Tut exhibit because there seems to be a resemblance to the teenage pharoah - at first glance.

Sarah--What a great job you're doing in art. This is a wonderful perspective on a snowman "up close". No wonder you got a 4 in art! I didn't get to comment on the last portrait you did but I was very impressed with the girl with the paint palette on her face. You really have some neat ways of expressing yourself. Keep up the good work! Love, Gramma

You are really getting good at drawing people. For those who may look at this, Frank Big Bear is a Native American artist who does self portraits. He would put pictures of things that were important to him on his self portrait. So that is why Sarah has art supplies on her face. Those are things she feels are important to her.
