This looks just like the frog that was on our patio this morning. We've also had tree toads on our deck and they crawl onto our windows and eat all the bugs. They are green, too, and they try to hide during the day. The bad thing is that the tree frogs smear up our windows. Do you remember our telling you about the doe and her twin fawns last year? Well they are now half grown and are called yearlings and the doe has another fawn. This one looks like a small buck deer. Our yard below our house has become secluded place for birds. I have humming bird feeders out and besides the humming birds that drink from them I have orioles and even a chickadee stops to drink. We love your pictures so keep posting them. Annika, Love your kitty's name. He has such pretty markings. Love, Grandma Pat
-- Pat
- on March 23, 2012
Your picture of "Tommy" must look like your real cat. He is a great looking cat and he seems to be very contented. What do you feed him as he is really growing? Eric Slegh has a black cat and he calls him a unique name"Blackie". When Grandpa and I were growing up we had cats but because we lived on a farm the cats lived in the barn where they could get lots of fresh milk when the cows were milked. Grandpa remembers how he would squirt the cats as he milked the cows but the cats didn't mind as they licked themselves clean of the milk. Great Grandpa G liked dogs better than cats so we had many dogs. His favorite dog was named "Duke". Where ever Grandpa went Duke was always beside him in the truck or car. Duke was a great companion to him and he always sat next to him on the seat. Quite a sight!

Annika, Grandpa Rued planted 3 apple trees last summer on the lower part of our lot on the way down to the lake. They are like the apple tree you pictured in your colored drawing except they have no apples on them yet. Last fall Grandpa did pick 2 apples off the tree; not as many as you pictured but they are starting to bear fruit. Our problem growing them is keeping the deer from them. Remember those cute baby deer you saw last summer; they have grown up and love nibbling on the apple trees. Grandpa has had to put a high fence around each tree to protect them from the deer. Continue to draw and color pictures as we enjoy seeing them.
