This is BLUE RIBBON ART. Every aspect of it is perfect. The knight and dragon in the foreground are flawless and convey action and purpose. The contour of the castle is delightful and expresses strength. The balance of color is soothing and fills the viewer’s heart with happiness. The fluff of the clouds is fun. Absolutely BLUE RIBBON.

I LOVE this picture! The whole picture tells a great story of knights rescuing princesses and fighting dragons. The dragon is very realistic.

The blue background reminds me of a wonderful fall day and the bright leaves are some of my favorite fall colors.

This paper-bag owl is a perfect decoration for fall. It makes me smile, even though it looks a little scary. And you've got your hand prints all over it, too. I think you must have had fun doing it.

FUN FUN FUN. This leaf creature is great--I love it. The way you blended and diffused the colors of the leaves shows skill in the handling of the medium. I notice that much of your art has a blue background. When you become a famous artist, these early years may become known as your "Blue" period.

Brandon, your arrangement of fall flowers is beautiful. The fence and owl in the background adds interest and balence to the picture. I love you. Grandma Mary

This is a great representation of fall! My favorite part of this picture is the owl sitting on the fence. You are so creative! Great job, Brandon!

WOW !! This action figure snowman, with feet scrambling so fast they're all over the place, is great. His hands are moving so fast, there appears to be four, and each one holding a sword or a lightsaber. WOW !! All through it he's laughing and might be saying, "Ha-ha, ho-ho. Take that, you dirty scoundrel." (Snowmen don't like dirt) The snow flakes behind him are a perfect counter balance to the picture. Good show, Brandon.

This pastoral scene with it's vibrant colors is both peaceful and exciting. The googlely eyed sheep stand out in sharp contrast to the background. This is worthy of framing and hanging. I give this work of art an A+.

This is a very awesome dinosaur! I sure don't want to see him running after me in the dark! The colors you used and the way you drew this picture show how much talent you have. Keep learning more about art and someday you might be able to sell some artwork in a gallery - like your great Uncle Chris.

WOW! These colors are terrific. the lighter chaulk on black paper creates a wonderful depth. The rich green earth and electric blue sky are emotional. I used to like purple dinosaurs, but now, I'll trade them for light blue with orange dorsal fins--a nice contrast.

I wish to apologize for being so late in commenting on the elephant picture. I was out for lunch (a long lunch) when it was published. The soft contrast of colors and the handling of the medium is suburb. A pleasing balance of space is created with the foreground taking up one-third of the canvas, while the tree difines the right half (flora) from the left half (fauna). This is an excellent rendition of the diversity of life on our planet.

Brandon, what a sweet way to express your love. Your heart appears to float amid a cloud, much like a nebula in the universe.

Brandon’s handling of the mixed mediums is intriguing and well executed. The contrast of primary colors brings excitement and warmth to the rendition of mittens and snowflakes--and you need all the warmth you can get in Iowa winters. I give this four smilies :) :) :) :)

Brandon's rendition of the tall buildings of Bettendorf is pleasing to view. The rise of the street depicts the escarpment slope perfectly. Iowa can be proud of this budding artist who renders the fertile green and rich blue of an evening Iowan sky with accuracy.

The choice of colorful fabric for the border is both pleasing to the eye and frames the building nicely. it appears that a man is doing a fly-by without either a plane or a cape and makes one ask, "Who is that man?"

Brandon shows mastery in the handling of the wax medium (crayons). The technique he uses in the blue background creates depth and contrasts nicely with the solid orange of the subject which makes the cat's head seem to float above the paper. The rendering and dimensions of the facial features evoke trust and happiness. Overall, Brandon shows the skill of a successful cartoonist, a carreer he can indulge in when he is not busy patroling the streets of the mighty megalopolis of Bettendorf.
