Violet, Thanks so much for being such a great art student all these years. I'm joining your fan club so I can see the art you make in the future. Ask you family to help you keep adding your creations to your digital portfolio:) You biggest art fan,

Interesting composition - with the hand reaching in to touch the figure - or is it just to hold the page down? This frame alone has action in it - I can't wait to see the animated movie!

This is a beautiful portrait. It makes me feel sad, and I wonder why she is pouting so. I love your composition, that she fills the frame. Thanks for another interesting work of art.

This reminds me of our trip to Italy. We'll have to make one of you in a field of girasole!

Hi Violet - I love where you have placed yourself, sitting there in the field, looking off into the distance. At first I wondered if this was Italy, and then I saw the reference to Wyeth, and realized it was probably Pennsylvania. You make me want to sit and think too! Love Grandma Jean

Another great drawing by a great artist - VIOLET! I particularly like his mustache. It fills his face but doesn't completely hide his smile. I would be smiling too if I could have a taste of that cake! I also really like how BIG he is, touching the sides of the paper like the professionals do. I can't wait to see it on Dryden's tile wall. Violet - This is a beautiful painting! I love the way the vase touches all sides of the page - it makes it feel HUGE! And the colors, patterns, and shapes make me feel I am looking at a true Greek vase in a museum. I'm glad to meet Goddess Sicktopolous and her plants - we will need her in the winter flu season. Thank you for your great artwork. Grandma Jean

Dear Violet - Another great work of art from the master artist Violet Saradin! The dog has such sad eyes - he sure is blue! Could it be all those bright colors and patterns in the background making him feel a little woozy? I love that he is so big - touching all sides of the paper, and that the background is filled with color. He does seem to be waiting for something. What is it? That's what's great about your art work - the portrait that tells me a story. Thanks Grandma Jean

Wow Violet - this definitely reminds me of a Matisse painting but with your special way of painting. I love the polka-dotted vase and the checkered bowl. I can't wait to see your next picture. Grandma Jean

This is beautiful!!! I heard a quote from Matisse that I think is really interesting. He said, "It has bothered me my whole life that I didn't paint like everyone else."

Hi Violet. Cat in the Hat looks terrific. Reminds me of Dr. Suess stories that Grandmother Jean used to read to Aunt Rose. At least I think she did. And now you are reading the stories and even drawing from them. Congratulations. Give yourself a pat on the back. (Can you?) Keep up the good work! Love, G. G. Helen

Very imaginative job of expressing imagination!

Dear artist - These are great pictures! The girl in the striped shirt dreaming or thinking made me smile. She looks happy and she made me happy too!. I really like the way the thought bubble is flying away into the sky, just like our thoughts often do, or our dreams do when we can't remember what we dreamed at night! The blue behind your maple leaves makes it look like the leaves are floating in the water or slowly falling from the spring sky. How did you do that? Thank you for sending me these pictures. Love, Grandma
