This one is terrific too! How come I missed this? I would really like this on a tee shirt. Is that possible? Love, Angela

Dear Ryan, I'm not sure why but looking at your "R" is making me very hungry. I have a yen for pepperoni pizza, but I can't figure out why.... Love, Angela

Hi Ryan, Where did you find all that stuff you used to make the collage?! I really like how you balanced the color and the textures in this one. I don't know about the work of Louise Nevelson, but I'll look her up. Love, Angela

Ryan, this one is intense!! It looks like a technicolor horse's head! Do you know this art group called the Fauvists? They were all about replacing predictable colors with unusual ones. So instead of painting the sky blue, they might color it orange or pink. Also, here's a link to a current illustrator that I love who uses wild colors. His name is James Blagden. I'll see you Sunday in Hyannis!! Love, Angela

Mr. R, you draw very well. Could you do a portrait of me some time? See you in a few weeks! Love, the Warden

Hi Ryan, Do you mind if I use this drawing as my email image? A tiny version of it will pop up next to my name whenever I send email. Is that okay with you? So I've hear of a mandala, but I'm not sure what it is. It's something to do with spirituality in India, right? I'll look it up. Anyway, I really like the design. Love, Angela

Hi Ryan, I was just showing off your work to a friend of mine. That artist, he said, is really talented! This one, I think, is my new favorite. Wouldn't it be fun if it could be made into wallpaper and I pasted it to a wall in my house?! I wish I could! Looking forward to seeing you next weekend. Love, Angela

Hi Ryan, This is a very cool collage. What is it made of? It looks to me like corrugated colored paper, but it's hard to tell when looking at it on a computer screen. I'm glad you made the central shape red because I think red looks exciting next to turquoise. I probably told you this already, but your work reminds me of a Brazilian painter I LOVE named Beatriz Milhazes. Here's one of her paintings: http://thenewcollectorsbook.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/12916w_bmavenidabrasilhr.jpg Do you like it? Love, Angela

Hi Ryan, I like your self-portrait a lot! That's a pretty wild background. Even though it's just one color, it looks so lively. Were you looking at Van Gogh self portraits? Well, I'd like to see the real Ryan soon! I went to tell you about a trip I took to Ireland were I saw a stone that said "Mahon Family." I'll show you the picture I took of it. Love, Angela

As ever, Ryan, I am thrilled by the colors you use. May I have a copy of this picture? Maybe Mom can scan it. Love, Angela

Hi Ryan, I LOVE your self-portrait! The different shades of hair and background make me think of Andy Warhol prints. If you don't know that artist, I'm sure your mom and dad will show you some of his work. Great job! Love, Angela

Hi Ryan, I LOVE this landscape very much! I am in London right now and there is a show of David Hockney's work. Now that I see your drawing, I feel sad that I will not have time to go to the Hockney show. Maybe we can look at some of his paintings together some day. I hope so. You make terrific pictures!
