Ella, Jacob Lawerance is one of my favorite artists so I was delighted to learn that you studied him. Collage is also a medium that has interested me for decades. Keep with it so you can teach me the next time we get to visit.

Ella, Of your two new pieces of art, I like this one best. You are experimenting with different colors and a "still life" is challenging to do. Do you have a favorite color? Are all four of your pieces done with crayons? Your Uncle Sterling is working in watercolors like Grandma Bev does. We have lots of artists in the family. Maybe when I'm done teaching, I'll try art again, too.

Van Gogh is one of my favorite artists. I'm happy to see his influence in your work. Perhaps you'll get to see his originals in Paris someday.
