Hi Kyle.....WOW! Sketching people is so very difficult. I attempted it many times...no can do. You are on your way though. Whomever this is looks very stern and powerful. The clothing looks regal and authoritative. If you master doing it you can be like a person I see on the wharf. He sketches people and he makes a living doing it, while in the sun and enjoying all the visitors. I don't think I ever attempted sketching peoples arms and hands.....that seems hard to me. Oh my Kyle you are so brave to take on all these skills....improve on them and have fun at the same time. Keep it up and most of all ... please continue to share with me. -- sheila

I knew right away who this was Mr. Caesar. I like his intense eyes and regal clothing. I think your portrait might end up looking better than your wax museum costume, but at least you'll have a crown (of olive leaves). -- Dad

Hi Kyle....usually I comment on what I see or like about your artwork. Kyle this time, I almost cried viewing this artwork of yours. I usually cry, when I am deeply touched by beauty. I cannot thank you enough Kyle for sharing your delightful artwork with me. There also is so much light in your work. Keep enjoying all of your talents and sharing them with others. I vote yes to definitely framing this work of art. -- sheila

This is beautiful. It reminds me of hiking in the Badlands. Gorgeous! -- Julie

Wow, Kyle. This might be the first art work that we frame. That's fantastic. -- John
- on October 19, 2013
Wow Kyle...you are on a creative roll. What a great surprise to receive another work of art so soon. I don't know what to say Kyle...you are learning more then I have ever been taught. I love the light colors ... it feels spacious and fluid and musical. It seems like it is flowing and not dense or choppy. Framing it in black really makes it stand out more. I hope you continue to send me your works of art because I am always so very pleasantly surprised, when I see the notice on my computer. It is your summer vacation now I know. I hope you have a great summer Kyle and get more inspired through your adventures to create more art. -- sheila

I've already mounted this one in another place of honor in the kitchen, along with so many of your other creations old and new. -- Dad

Hi Kyle....what a great way to start a holiday weekend by receiving a work of art from you. GREAT! It is remarkable that you got all the dimensions accurate....great job. Whoever you modeled this after must be a happy person because it shows through in your artwork. I especially like the background you placed this figure in. Kyle you have no idea how much I look forward to and appreciate always receiving all the evidence that not only are you healthy but happy and creative. I am hoping you are going to do something for fourth of July because that is such a festive and colorful holiday. Thanks again Kyle -- sheila

My first thought was that this was a rock star, but I quickly realized, nope. This looks like every year at winter camp, Saturday night, in the dark, with loud music, endless snacks and a bunch of crazy dancing scouts and a mirror ball in the main dining hall. DISCO NIGHT!!! But..... why is your skin green? Hulk??? -- Dad
- on May 23, 2013
Kyle I was really stumped....could not figure out the symbol it represented but then I remembered some symbols are secret. Your Dad's comments made me understand it....and I was so happy to read you received a recognition for cleanest classroom. I like clean and orderly myself also. Well Kyle your artwork and ideas for art is really expanding. I am so happy to see not only that you are talented but having fun expressing yourself and appreciating all that is around you. Please continue to send me all of your artwork because I really look forward to it. Some personalized artwork sent to me would be also great.....did I say GREAT? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -- sheila

I get it. The Golden Basket for the cleanest classroom in the school was introduced. Nice job. -- Dad

Kyle...this is one healthy looking tree. I like that you made it so bold and defined. It is so well drawn and colored that I can almost see its aliveness. I remember the trees in your yard Kyle. Did you draw inspiration from them? We just had a good rain in S.F. and our tree trunks are all wonderfully black in contrast to the remaining fall leaves. We have alot of old trees in S.F. that I find so very beautiful. Please keep treating me to your wonderful artwork Kyle...I really look forward to receiving it and seeing how each year you are advancing with your skills. -- sheila

Kyle, Happy to see a new work of yours. I like the contrast of the cool and warm colors you selected. A good piece for Halloween. - Mom
- on October 25, 2012
Very nice work, kid. It looks to me like a cold, Minnesota fall tree. I like the look of the random branches just like a real oak tree in our yard. -- Dad

Help!!!! I'm falling.... I'm falling..... Someone throw me a parachute! -- Julie

Oh Kyle I wish I had been taught art like you. I guess though it is never to late to learn. I have trouble with angular perception, when I draw. I always like to try and draw the Golden Gate Bridge on the sidewalk, when we have the block party...but...I have trouble with debth and angles. The way you colored the painting makes it look much more fascinating and mysterious. It for some reason reminds me of Geometry...which I really loved in high school. You are most fortunate Kyle...going to such a wonderful school...having great teachers and many friends. Continue having fun and sharing your talents with me. Aunt Sheila

I really like the colorful background shading that you used here. The geometric shapes add an interesting thing for the eye to focus on in your perspective drawing. Looks to me like I'm being sucked into a portal on the way to the Null Void. Look out below, Ben10!!! -- Dad

Kyle, that's one modern looking chair. If you make one full size we could use it in the room where we got rid of our couch. Very cool. -- Julie

Oh Kyle...I got so excited about your new artwork and design....I think you are building your own PRINCE KYLE THRONE...Great to see spillproof because strawberry brown cow might stain. I am a structure woman, so to see that it is sound in that way pleases me. Now here comes the most important part. You mentioned in your ad.....it is comfortable. You almost have me buying it on line in the moment with that word alone. I love working with wood....It is one of my most favorite things to do. I also like sealing and finishing the wood or staining also. Oh what fun you are having Kyle and it pleases me so very much that you are sharing it with me. Stay Friskee and keep making all that you can.....FUN. -- sheila

I had to look a couple of times to understand this one, buddy. But now I get it and it's clear as day. I see all the words that describe your chair and I see a comfortable Adirondack chair viewed from the side. It looks ready for summer. -- John

Kyle, this piece of art of yours makes my eyes happy! What a beautiful selection of colors. I also like the size and placement of the trees and mountains. How gorgeous! -- Julie
- on November 15, 2011
Kyle you trickster...I got all excited seeing another of your pieces of art available and then a jungle. I was expecting pumpkins, leaves etc. I was pleasantly surprised. How did you get those hills rolling...good job on that...it looks wonderfully hilly. Such a variety of plants and colors. I can imagine those spikey cactus thorns...ouch! The sky even looks different because of being in a different reflection of the earth. Kyle you and your artwork are maturing together. I so look forward to seeing both you and your talent grow. Please continue to entertain yourself well and share your talent with us. Enclosed all of my love...She -- sheila

I think this is my favorite artwork that you have created so far this year and maybe ever. I love the depth, the leafy tree and the snow-capped mountains. The colors are wonderful and the sky is beautiful. This is a great painting. Keep it up, Buddy. -- Dad
- on November 12, 2011
Nice job Kyle. I like symmetry and structure in art and you've certainly achieved that with your first published 3rd grade artistic creation. I do like that you did not draw the vertical and horizontal lines with a ruler because I like the way they bend a little. It makes me take a second look, straighten my neck and try to figure out why I feel a little dizzy. Keep it up. -- Dad
- on October 15, 2011
Oh Kyle...I feel like you are still here with me. You know I love you and your artwork. This is really great and wow I think advanced. I like that the brown lines do not go through any of the letters, then suddenly the green lines appear in the letter R....that is very cool. I also really like the triangle shape in and at the top of the letter A. This is really a demonstration of art and the fun of expressing oneself. I really, really get all excited, when I see the new artwork from you. I hope you will be doing some holiday art...like Halloween and Thanksgiving. I use to love to draw leaves and color them because I was so inspired by the beautiful Autumn trees in Chicago+Wisconsin. I hope you continue spreading the joy and beauty Kyle......Smooches+Squishes -- sheila

Hi Kyle...once again I wish I was there to see how you did this. You will get many more ideas about architecture, when you visit me in S.F. I bet in the inside you made the ceilings high...and it makes the house very spacious. I too wonder like your mom...what is in the silo? How do you keep the bottom connected to the top? You will have to explain all of this to me, when you visit. I am always so pleased, when I receive your joy and talent via the E-mail. I don't have a good view to understand what the blue items are in the house...maybe part of the construction. I like the white...it will keep the house cool and I bet it looks great next to natures green color. Keep having fun Kyle and thank you for sharing with me. Delighted to say...I will see you soon. -- sheila
- on April 22, 2011
Kyle, I love your entry into 3-D art. What I want to know is what's that hidden in the blue silo? -- Julie
- on April 21, 2011
I really like your model of Angie's house made from things you built and a few things you found. I'm still wondering who it is that is drawn on the inside and looks like they were splattered against the wall? Was that the work of Voldemort? -- Dad
- on April 20, 2011
Hi Kyle...hooray another work of art from you. I notice as always everything is uniquely the same. They are both turtles but there is always something unique about the individual. WOW! These two look well loved and it appears all their needs are being provided including the wonderful sunshine. I can understand why these turtles look so content. Perhaps when you visit me, we can go to the zoo and you can get even more inspired to express the beauty you see each day. Keep the wonderful gifts of your talent coming Kyle...I really appreciate them. Aunt Sheila -- sheila

This was the first artwork that I was able to see in person before it was posted. I still really like the lines on the turtles shell; they are just like real life. Nice job. -- Dad
- on February 15, 2011
Hi Kyle...I love the red background. Oh Kyle I don't know where to start. How did you do this? I know it is a collage, but I never made one. I wish I was there to see you make it so I have more of an idea as to how it is done. In Morro Bay I saw a huge turtle...I mean over a hundred pounds and it was so very special. I think of that turtle, when I see this one. That is a great tail...It makes it look like it is in motion. I tried to draw the golden gate bridge to put on our chalk party out front of our home and was pleased with myself...but I need a lot more practice to match the talent you are showing me. Keep up the good work and it sure looks like you are having fun. Thank you Kyle and I love you. -- sheila
- on December 22, 2010
Wow! I love it Kyle! I like how you created the roughness of the turtle's back and how the turtle seems to pop out against the red background. I'm looking forward to seeing the original artwork in person. Love, Mom. -- Julie
- on December 21, 2010
I'm guessing that you worked with water colors for this one. It reminds me of some of the big snapping turtles that we have seen in the summer. Don't get your fingers too close to this guy!!! -- John
- on December 20, 2010
How vibrant! I look forward to seeing this artwork in person. I think the energy of this piece matches your personality. I definitely see you Kyle in this piece. I love it. Keep the artwork coming! -- Mom
- on October 24, 2010
Oh happy day...I waited a long time for another piece of your lovely artwork Kyle. I love the way you swirl your colors...It helps the painting to feel alive or in motion. Great blend of colors Kyle. Because of what you did, the painting feels like it has a more complex body. It looks more animate. Your talent is growing along with you Kyle....I am so pleased that you are sharing all the fun and beauty with us. I love you Kyle...She -- Sheila
- on October 22, 2010
That's a great self-portrait. You can really see how much you've improved your artwork since starting at Turtle Lake. The colors are really vibrant but are a good match of the real world. Keep it up, Little Rembrandt. -- Dad
- on October 22, 2010
Hooray! Another piece of artwork from Kyle. The person in the painting seems very lively. I really like the background color. I never knew how to draw ears--Good job Kyle with dimensions. I saw the blonde hair and got to wondering Kyle, if this is a self-portrait. I want someday to learn how to work with water colors. I hear it is fun but some say it is the most difficult way to express on paper. Oh what fun you are having Kyle and I so appreciate your sharing with others. Please continue to have fun and share and I will continue to let you know how and why I appreciate each painting that you create...Good bye for now...Kyle (Aunt Sheila)

Kyle, how wonderful to see a new piece of your artwork. It looks like it is a self-portrait. I love it! -- Julie
- on April 9, 2010
Kyle, you captured your blue eyes and short, blond hair just right. But where are the missing teeth? I like all the energy flying around your head which matches your personality. -- Dad
- on April 9, 2010
I like that your name was present but subdued-it became part of the artwork rather than seperate. It had just the right amount of busy or visual activity. Oh what fun...Oh what talent. It made my eyes happy...thank you Kyle.

The green texture was created by putting shapes underneath my art and then coloring on it.
- on November 4, 2009
Kyle, this piece of art expresses lots of energy. I love the textured look that you created with the green crayon! How did you do that?
- on November 3, 2009
Very nice piece of work, Kyle. It reminds me of Mondrian who used bright colors and simple geometric shapes to create MASTERPIECES. Dad
