Well, I finally got my Halloween stuff out, and guess what I found? The pumpkin you painted last year! It is hanging in the breakfast area, so we see it every time we walk in the back door. You have become an outstandingly good artist. It pleases me so that you love to experiment with art mediums and methods. I loved going to the art auction with you at your school. It was fun! A good artist practices often. Love, Mamaw.

I am ever more impressed. I'm glad you love to swim, but I love more that you love to paint! Don't stop doing either. You will stay young forever doing the things you love to do. It was nice seeing you last Sunday. It had been a long time. Stay pretty, be pretty. Love, your mamaw.

Abby, This is a great picture. You are a great artist. The peacocks feathers remind me of Tulips. It is almost Tulip time out here. I wish you could come to the parades with me they are really neat. Maybe sometime. Love this picture.

Was this peacock missing some feathers? I have never painted a peacock, but I do think he is one of God's most beautiful birds. Mamaw

So I see you are drawing and painting again! That's good. You see, if an artist does not draw often, she might forget what she has learned about drawing or painting. Your basket has the same eggs you dyed here at my house. Are they the very same ones or did your dad eat those? Well, whatever the case, you did a great job on this picture, and I am proud of your work! Love you. Mamaw

Girl, you were just here at my house and never mentioned this painting! You know that jack-o-lantern you painted in early October? Well, I put it away with all my other Halloween stuff so I can put it up next year. I could have used a turkey painting. Good job. Love, mamaw.
- on March 15, 2010
Once again I think you have the best turkey. He must be a butterball turkey to be so fat. Love GRAMPS
- on March 15, 2010
Dear Abby; Bob must be a Butter Ball turkey as fat as he is. He is very proportional as turkey''''s go. The grass and the sky are very good. But once again he sure is fat. I love you, Gramps

Great Turkey Abby, I love all the colors!!

Abby, This is just great. You are a great artist. I am so proud of you. Love you Grandma B

These apples look so real I could eat one. Your attention to the light allows the shadows to fool the eye and give depth to the artwork. You are too good! Gramps...

Well, mamaw must be honest and say that you don't really enjoy painting rockets or maybe I need to see the book from which this picture came before I can judge your painting. When you were here last, you asked me how I paint the way I paint. We did not do any painting this time, which is unusual for us. Next time we have time to paint, I want to show you a little about HOW I paint. I think you might enjoy it. I love you. You ARE an artist! Mamaw
- on November 8, 2009
Once again you have painted the most interesting rocket. It has great color, and seems to be going very fast. A little outside the box, but I LOVE IT. GRAMPS

Yikes! This is your best work so far. The detail is great. The spider-web looks so real. Love you, Gramps.
- on November 4, 2009
You love color and detail! I can even see the warts on this witches nose, and the ears on the bat! Did you know, Abby, there are artists who draw just for children's books? You would make a great children's books artist. This witch looks unhappy; I believe most witches are unhappy people. Keep drawing; you have an eye for art! I love you, little bit. Mamaw
- on November 4, 2009
That is one scary looking witch girly! I hope we don't see her on Halloween! -Love Daddy
- on November 4, 2009
That's the meanest witch I've ever seen. The spider-web is perfect. Super-Duper!
- on November 4, 2009
SPOOKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!You are quite the artist Abby, Keep up the good work.

great job Abster!

I thought I was in love with the rooster, but, Abby, I must say, this cat takes the prize. He is so colorful. It is your technique in which I am most impressed! Lots of famous watercolorist first paint splashes of various colors on their paper, then draw out a specific figure, just like you have done with this cat! You have inspired me to do a little painting. Love you. Mamaw
