Your shading work has come so far, Elise! The detail you were able to capture in "Madam's" shirt and little hands are impressive. I love the contrast between her fan and her features. Very nicely done, dear. Hugs!

I would love to know the significance of the words "don't send me away" combined with your subject's facial expression and third eye. I can see the influence of surrealism, notably Dali's The Persistence of Memory. Is this a depiction of a dream like state where time can seem irrelevant particularly at pivotal, emotionally driven, or poignant times in life (abandonment?). Forlorn, dead eyes, gaunt features, with a tight lipped smirk indicating indifference, despair, trudging on through turmoil, yet a deeper sense of knowing that the viewer is left try8ing to figure out. Nicely done, Elise. xo
