Hey, Max, how are you? We like this rainstick, but we have never heard of such a thing. Did you invent it? Does it create rain clouds in the sky? Can your Dad use it when the crops need more rain? Hey, Max. It is amazing how much stuff of many different kinds that a backpack can carry. We don't know if you and Sam carry backpacks to school, but if you do they probably have just about everything in them except your Dad's tractor. You have shown just how complicated and important a backpack can be by painting all these beautiful watercolors. That picture you painted almost vibrates with color, like energy is coming out of it in all directions--kind of like YOU! We are very proud of your painting, Max, and we hope you keep it up. Hey, Max. We can't believe how great your art work is. You must have a really good teacher and you must be a really good and interested student to be able to create such neat stuff. We love your space picture and wonder how you got all those elements of color and composition together in such a pleasing way. The lines on the planets look like the lines of ancient riverbeds on Mars and the impact craters of asteroids that have hit from outer space. You really are creating some interesting stuff, Max. Hi, Max. This is a wonderful, snowy scene of winter that you have created and we are very glad to be able to see it. It looks so chilly and cold and really beautiful. You know something? It also looks very still and quiet, like walking out into the snow on a cold night with your Mom and Dad and brother and everyone just stands there very quietly and looks up at the sky and around at the cold night before going back inside where it is warm. Hi, Max--- I really like how you put so many different spooky creatures into this panorama. I know you love to create things like the cross you made out of scrap wood when I was at the farm last Sunday and the cross I have in my garden that you welded out of scrap metal. Hey Max, Love the pumpkins! I especially like the light hitting the tops of them. I hope you are enjoying creating these neat pictures 'cuz I sure enjoy seeing them! Joan

Max, we really like the way you created these pumpkins with the light on the top of them. The dark blue background makes it look like night time, and like moonlight is glowing on top of the pumpkins. That night time view of the pumpkins makes a softly spooky atmosphere just like it is Halloween. You must feel really good about this picture, because you really did a good job here. When a person is creating art it is really a fun experience. The person sort of loses track of time and his mind just goes deeply into the art that he is creating. Such good feelings make a person want to create more. We hope you keep doing this. Aunt Jan and Uncle Mike

Hi Max, I LOVE the tucan picture you made with oil pastels - what GREAT use of color and shading! I also enjoyed the shoe picture. That looked like it was a lot of fun to do. (I don't believe it is your shoe, tho' cuz the laces are tied :) You have a lot of talent for drawing. Keep up the good work!
