Dear Ambrose, I love your still life of a vase with flowers. Even though one petal has fallen, the rest of the flowers will never dry out! Ask your parents to show you some paintings from Abraham Mignon. He painted wilted flowers and buggy fruits. It's funny to see beautiful bouquets and baskets of fruits that are so lifelike they come with their own insects! (look up Still Life with Fruits, Foliage and Insects, Abraham Mignon)

Dear Ambrose, I knew in an instant that this was an angel, so beautiful and calm with a magnificent robe, sturdy wings and a halo. I tried to study it to see if it could be anything else, and I thought perhaps an intelligent octopus. But you would certainly have more arms on an octopus.
