This pointillism artwork uses curved and diagonal lines to create a distorted, biomorphic face composed of geometric and organic shapes. The texture appears rough and bumpy, achieved through the careful placement of dots that build up a rich surface. Strong contrasts in value, ranging from dark to light, emphasize depth and create a sense of deep space within the fragmented composition. Overall, the piece demonstrates contrast, emphasis, and unity, blending abstract and nonobjective elements into a visually striking and expressive form.

The contrast is good, and the value tones go from very dark to white. The fractures are sharp and split the art nicely. The piece shows emotion by looking shocked.

The cross hatching you used in the foreground of the piece provide a nice visual differentiation for the viewer between the people/bushes in the front and the mountains in the background. The diagonal lines on the mountains also create a sense of depth since they draw the viewers eye away back as if the mountains really are farther away.

The use of shading principles allows the light source to be clearly identified as from the right. Moreover, the shading allows the different elements to shine in unique ways. For example, the mountains and the cracks within them are highlighted allowing for a bumpy and rough texture to be expressed.

The shading you’ve done throughout this assignment absolutely defines the shapes, light sources, and each surface But I would try to keep the light source more clear and consistent.

The shading is good and you can see depth in the mountains.

The shading you’ve done throughout this assignment absolutely defines the shapes, light sources, and each surface, but you may want to try and better conceal your lines, or make them less visible, especially on shapes like the last where you chose your on light source.

The coloring is done very gradient and the gray blends into the darker shade simply.

The gradation is dark but covers all the values. The lines are controlled and spaced out in proportion to the shade value.

The gradient made by the pencil provides a corrugated texture on the sphere. The light area on the sphere gives it a shiny look.

The light source creates a shadow that is similar to each objects shape. On the cone, the holes in it have their own shadow and it looks 3D.

I like how the different hues of green and purple are incorporated in each section to show contrast and temperature change in the colors, the shadows really make the weaving pattern show up in the artwork.

The colors contrast of the vertical and horizontal weaving/lines match each other. The shading of the colors in the horizontal portion is a lighter shade which brings out the color of each other

I enjoy the shadow the black brings to the weaving

The dull, brown highlights in the purple contrast really well with the brightness from the gold lines.
