I like the free flowing fun notes in the background in juxtaposition to the solid bright shapes in the foreground.

This does what art should: it grabs your imagination immediately. And it's interesting that while apples grow on trees, yours appear in the lower quadrant with no appearance of containment, like a bowl. Cezanne would approve!!

Hello Jacoby, It was wonderful to see your art projects from Community Prep. Grandpa found your winter drawing quite joyous, and I also really liked the dashing images with their black masks. I am curious about the placement of the snowman. I noticed you drew him in graphite rather than colored pencil like the rest of the drawing. Was he an afterthought, or was he always part of your plan? We both also liked your oil painting. The center of the piece acts like a magnet, really drawing the eye in. Your use of color is strong, and the sense of texture you created with the paint is really cool. We appreciated your artist statements as well—they describe your intentions very clearly. Nice job, Jacoby! We look forward to seeing more of your art. Grammy and Grandpa
