Dearest Cal, I love cardinals so much especially these cardinals you made from your handprints! The way they are sitting on the branches with pine needles as it is snowing is very beautiful. Dear Cal, I love seeing this night owl! Its blue wings light up the dark, where stars and the yellow moon are shining. I wish I could see an owl like this on one of our tall trees. I would stare at its orange beak, its big eyes that can see in the darkness, its soft feathers. I would wait to watch it fly through the woods, and I can almost hear it calling: hoo, hoo, hoo-hooo! ~ Love you! Hoo-hoo!

You know how much I love butterflies and especially learning about them and their life cycle!
