John: You should be very proud. This is one of your best pieces of art, in your online art portfolio.

Hi John, A really fabulous piece. The modification of the natural form of the heart that you did really demonstrates your penchant for abstraction with this piece. I also love your use of "all-over" space as opposed to using a "focal point" in your picture plane. It really allows each heart form to possess the same degree of importance in your composition. Lastly using the technique of covering up the negative spaces of the heart shaped areas with the cut out contrasting heart shaped pieces so that the negative space outlines the positive space is very effective in an abstract collage piece as this. "Un bon travail"!!!!!

HI John, Another wonderful piece of art. I like that you continued with your minimalistic style on this piece. I love how you used primary colors (the red and blue) in the center of your work and then alternated with shades of these colors as you worked toward the outer limits of the composition. The color harmony that you used really showcases the piece's dynamic equilibrium (your mom can explain that to you). The effect of the color context is quite effective as well--the use of the three primary colors (red, blue and yellow) on the black was a brilliant choice. The symbolism of the candles as family, although it was not your idea, is well-used through the varying and appropriate heights of the candles you used in the chosen context. Well done!!!!!! Hi John, This is a wonderful rendition of an elf. I love the simplicity in which you have evoked the image of an entire Elf by simply using the head and the upright-positioned arm. Modern and minimalistic, but allowing one to imagine the entire elf. Well done! Love, Aunt Cheryl

Hi John, this is Aunt Cheryl. I love your art work, it's really fantastic. All of your pieces are wonderful, but I particularly like the one of the trees and their reflection in the water. That one really indicates that you have an "artist's eye" for shading and perspective. You are very talented and I hope you will continue to develop your artistic talents. I really enjoy viewing your work. Thanks for sending it to me. Continue the great work.
