Impressionism is my favorite style of art and Claude Monet is near the top of all the artists. His "Water Lilies" are wonderful - and you have done a great job getting his ideas in your painting! Keep up the good work in art.

Colson, I am writing this very late at night and now that I've seen this and read about it I may not be able to go to sleep at all. When I saw this I said to myself, "This looks like an early 20th century expressionist painting - like Chagall, Picasso or Kandinsky. Then to read you were learning about Kandinsky made we laugh so hard. Good job my man. Your picture also reminded me of the apple from "The Very Hungry Caterpillar." "On Monday he ate through one apple. But he was still hungry." Great work! And I absolutely love the stem and leaves on the top. Grandpa John

I love this project! Colson, I hope you keep the joy in creating and exploring. Also, persevering in the process is really important when you feel frustrated--I still get frustrated and my whole job is to make art! Just keep going. God is THE Creator and is creative--and as a child of God, you are creative too. Love you buddy
