You were so into trains and subway trains the last couple of years! I know you are more into coins/bills and airplanes now. This work made me think back on how much you loved riding and researching information about different subway trains and their history. Your deep interest in things really brings accuracy in your art and that’s what makes your art so special. I loved how you added texture by ripping off pieces of colored paper to portray grass and other vegetation along the railroad/subway tracks. Do the two yellow arches up at the top depict sunlight/sun? The other colors that you chose for the sky, rose/maroon, are usually colors of sunset. I love your choice of colors - the colors of the sunset are so magical! You did so well trying your best!

I want to comment on the title you chose for your artwork. I agree with you about all this garbage accumulation is sad. We should think about where and how much garbage piles up and how that affects the future and the environment. You brought life to one of the garbage characters by giving it eyes and a realistic facial expression. I saw its expression as confusion and disgust. I also liked that you highlighted this animated character with a bright pink color to have it stand out. I love your creativity by choosing everyday items such as bottle caps and others to create realistic-looking barriers. This work made me think a lot about what we should do and not do to make our earth a better place to live. Thank you for making a thought-provoking art piece.

Haha Toby. Mike would feel so proud and honored if he knew you named your art project airport was named after him! I know you are super into airplanes lately and I love how you used your current special interest into your art project. I am so proud of you for not giving up and finishing this artwork! The ground and the lines truly depict how the runway looks at the airport and it creates such great visual interest! Blox Cargo! Love the name! Did you cut the letter B and the propellers, also? Looks awesome! I really hope the bird doesn’t get hurt or interferes with the flights! Great job for not giving up!

I loved how you used the different colors and drew falling leaves to portray that this is autumn. I noticed the detail of the fallen leaves that accumulated on the ground of each color leaf pile. You worked so hard on this. Wonderful job!

I love seeing all the textures you built with the charcoal and I love the realistic collar of the Dracula! His fangs look scary and I noticed the slightly lifeless gaze from his eyes! You did an amazing job, Toby!
