The artist decided the self-portrait wasn’t “perfect” and tossed it away. It was, fortunately, rescued. The ability to put pencil to paper is obvious. I’m most impressed how accurately the artist sees herself. The great artists of the past often painted over previous attempts. This artist should strive for “perfection” while knowing perfection is an ideal vs. a reality. I’m thrilled to have a view of this artist at an early stage. Wow!
