Hi Amelie, I absolutely love this Christmas tree. I noticed that the presents were not colored in and wondered if that was done on purpose and what it might mean. Very interesting piece. I’m so proud of you. Love, Mimi

Wow, what a beautiful snowman Amelie. How creative of you. I especially like the look of the green neck tie. The shape works well with the overall piece. The shading on the right side of snow man also adds a 3D quality. Nice job!!! Love, Mimi

Hi Amelie, What a nice spider you drew! I love your choice of a bright yellow behind the dark spider. I wonder if it is the sun or the moon or if it is early morning? Either way, I think it makes the piece look hopeful! Happy Halloween! Love, Mimi

Amelie, What a great turtle you made! :) The turtle shell is so nicely detailed. You put very interesting patterns in the turtle’s shell. The turtle looks happy to see the butterflies around him. It looks like you used a stamp to make the butterflies. I like that you chose a pink background to contrast with the black and white turtle shell. I’m very proud of you. Lots of Love, Mimi

While all of Amelie's artwork is amazing, beautiful, delightful, I think am partial to the dumptruck. It takes Amelie's unique viewpoint to see the beauty of a dumptruck. I now have a renewed appreciation for dumptrucks. Thanks for that, Amelie. Much love, Nana

Hi Amelie, What might this creature be? and what is she thinking or doing. What a lovely color purple you used here. I see this creature has eight wings. Does she fly? I also see you made some interesting scratch marks that are reveal white paper underneath. Very cool! Love, Aunti Mimi

Hi Amelie, This one is so neat. You captured an interesting thing here in the details of her teeth where some of the shorter ones or ones missing make it look so realistic. Then as a an interesting contrast to that there is also a cartoon-like quality to the drawing which makes it seem a little lighter and more relatable or approachable. (You can look these words up in the dictionary if you have not heard them before). The girl’s eyes being two different sizes adds to the lightness of the piece. We can see her tongue so I wonder, is the girl talking loud or perhaps laughing or surprised? I also think it is cool that you made such a great piece using only one color! Beautiful work Amelie. Love, Mimi

Interesting assymetrical face (ask your parents what it means), especially the eyes. And a big smile with lotsa teeth and a yellow tongue. Who is that?

Hi Amelie, What a wonderful drawing Dear. The little white heart shapes along the blue irises if her eyes seem to add emotion to her face. The large white oval shapes in the top of her eyes also add emotion. Where she has no mouth, it makes me wonder, “How does the cat feel?” “Is she sad or does she feel some other way?” I think the way you made simple details like her furry cheeks, whiskers, heart nose with using just one or two lines gives the feeling of the cat really existing as she relates to her environment outside. It is interesting then that her surroundings beyond except for the brown coloring are not drawn yet. Also Amelie, the simplified style gives a feeling of lightness, meaning not so serious like a cartoon instead of being more realistic. Very interesting Amelie. There seems to be some mystery in this excellent drawing! Love, Auntie Mimi

Wow! This drawing is incredible Amelie. I love the shapes, dark outlines of the leaves and the colors. This is a very original impression of some trees. I wonder, what do you think the mood of the drawing is? What were you feeling when you drew it? Great job! Love, Auntie Mimi

Wow Amelie! What an outstanding and very cool shark! Did you use newspaper for the body? What an original idea. You did a great job with the eyes, teeth and mouth. The shark looks like he is enjoying his day in the sun. He doesn’t look too scary. I just noticed the turtle and the fish. Great work Amelie and thank your for sharing it. Lots of Love, Auntie Mimi
