Dearest Abigail, This piece is highly indicative of the pointillism style that emerged in the late 19th century, a neo-impressionist movement that emerged as a direct counterpoint to realism. It is not unlike the works created by masters Seurat and Signac in aimed and succeeded in capturing the fleeting emotion of an instantaneous moment. I'm reminded of the piece "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte" which was prominently featured in the major motion picture "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", as the three main protagonists explore the Art Institute Of Chicago (lucky them!). Although the film downplays the social construct and general utility of an "ism", one might say that I am *impressed* by your impressionism! Love you lots!
