Great drawings of airplanes! I like how you captured a realistic picture of each one in just a few simple lines! That seems like a hard thing to do effectively, but you captured the differences in them! When you get a chance I would love to see the Blackhawk some day!

Nice self-portrait! This can be very hard to do, but you did a good job. You look even better in person!:)

This makes me think of a battle and war, with a plane in the red sky that is filled with smoke, and fires on the the ground near houses.

Is this your ideal room? It looks clean, minimal, and inviting!

So cool! The color choice is dramatic, and I like how a plane is suggested, but gives the viewer a chance to fill in and "read between the lines." The flag pattern makes me think this is a patriotic piece, and in my mind, commemorates 9/11 effectively. I don't know if that was your intent, but that's what I see. I also see suggestions of a city skyline in the background that remind me of New York.

I really like this drawing that reminds me of Picasso's Guernica, but I like this one better!

I'm really enjoying your sculptures, Zach! I also enjoyed the very interesting write-up that explains why you chose to create this image and the surprising addition of the pizza! It really grabs the attention more with the pizza than without it. It makes me want to look at your art and think about why you did that! Adding a large stash of cash would have been more predictable. I like that you surprised me with pizza!

Hi, Zach!
I like how you filled the whole page with color, and that you're integrating outside learning (Chinese lessons) into what you are learning at Thurston! :) I'm impressed that you still remember how to write your name in Chinese!
Love,
Mom
