Amanda, seeing this piece of yours just blew me away! I am so incredibly proud of the artist you’re becoming at 16. The detail in this is just awesome. I love the grid layout and how you’ve played with contrast—putting that one bright yellow flower against the deep blue background really makes it pop, while the different shades of red and those earthy, moody backgrounds in the other squares create such a cool vibe.I’m also so impressed by the technique here. You can really see the "impasto" style in the way you layered the paint to give the petals that thick, 3D texture. It gives the whole piece so much life and energy. The way you worked through each panel to explore different color harmonies shows so much growth in your design process. You’ve got such a gift for capturing a mood through your art. I’m your biggest fan, kiddo—keep creating! Love Dad!

Amanda, I am so incredibly proud of you! Finding out that your piece won the Carmel School Purchase Award for best piece is such a fantastic moment.I didn't see you in the middle of the process, so seeing the finished work was such a wonderful surprise. The way you used the ceramics to create those delicate, layered petals and the textured "water" grid is so impressive. Your choice of colors—those soft pinks against the deep greens and blues—shows a real eye for design. What strikes me most is how the whole design seems to reflect your emotional state while you were making it. I can see a sense of calm, focus, and quiet peace in every detail. You didn’t just create a game; you captured a feeling and shared it with everyone who looks at it. I’m so glad the school recognized your talent and vision. Congratulations, I’m your biggest fan! Love Dad!!

That’s such a thoughtful and creative piece, Amanda! I can really see how the show inspired you. The way you used the acrylic paint to make those red flowers stand out against the black-and-white grid is very striking. The contrast between the fully painted sections and the sketches in the other squares gives the artwork a cool sense of movement—it’s like watching the flowers bloom or come to life across the page. It makes me curious about the symbolism from the show; flowers often represent things like growth, hidden meanings, or even specific emotions. Using that as a base to create something so bold and organized was a great idea! Keep up the great work—I love seeing how you’re experimenting with different styles and themes. The central focus of your artwork features vibrant red flowers painted with acrylics. This style often highlights deep emotions like passion or love, providing a strong contrast against the darker backgrounds. Do you have a favorite square in the grid, or do you see the whole piece as one big story? Love Dad

Amanda- This is a fantastic example of two-point perspective, a classic architectural drawing technique that uses two vanishing points to create the illusion of 3D space on a flat surface. At 16, mastering this technical skill shows a lot of dedication and focus. This has such a cool, moody vibe. The contrast between the dark night sky and the warm glow from the yellow streetlamp on the corner is my favorite part—it makes the whole scene feel so atmospheric. Literal masterpiece! Love Dad
