NOW I see where all your practice with circles is coming from. I love Kusama's flowers and abstract animals. She is a great one to study. I hope you are having a blast with this because it sure looks like it!

We have a lot of storms here in Iowa, don't we? No wonder it's on your mind that the big one had a bad part of it that fell away to the ground. I love seeing your artwork! Keep doing it, I hope you have fun with your stories about it too.

I see your shapes getting more depth and clarity. The bad guy looks like it's the black figure and you can see the rock clearly falling on him/it. the rock looks like it is connected to an arm coming from the big mass above, is that the monster or something else? I can tell you have some big thoughts about the dangers going on and protection from the bad guys.

This painting is showing some cool (and maturing artist) thinking patterns with part of the visual message disappearing out of view leaving the audience wondering. A key element of art is what it says, not just how it looks. One has to guess what isn’t there as well as what is!!! I’m impressed

Oh my goodness, Jack! When I first saw this one, I wondered if another small piece of paper was pasted to the center and lower part of the page. Closer look says no, that long, dark, line looks like you moved your brush such that it makes the suggestion of three dimensionality and then the smudge to the left adds to that adds to create an illusion of the rectangular piece that looked pasted on! Wow! I'm very happy to see your work, Jack! Keep it up! Loving the sandmen and their castle!

I think I see people, yes? I don’t see what you titled it. I see a familiar “storm” theme but with figures underneath this time. Cool!

Jack, the greens really do look like a tornado sky, and the yellow below I wonder if it is like the dust and other stuff that gets stirred up. Guessing that the Tornado SMOOCHER means it's a big one! Way to go using color and energy to depict what you are thinking about

Reminds me of the entrance to a tunnel on a railroad track. With the train going through. Drawing what you love and that is very cool.

Oh my goodness! I love the use of deep red and yellow and black together. If you turn this around, it looks exactly like flames of fire with smoke! Cool effort Jack!

In this one I see three distinct being like shapes. I wonder if you made this for your sisters and mom, giving them tribute each in their own different color.

Very nice use of space. It looks like you are becoming more comfortable using the whole paper but still leaving some negative space. Nice color combination too—and the shapes suggest a flower bouquet!

I think I see the beginnings of a head and arms in this one. You are really getting into it!

The bright yellow center is very nicely set off by the greens and darks around it. Just like the sunshine in you Jack. Gives me a big inside smile!

I wonder if you were remembering the things from the sea that you have learned about when you have visited California? This one looks like a giant jellyfish to me! Have you ever seen such a thing? Your art is so much fun to see!

The strokes at the top make a stripy rounded shape, kind of like the shell of a turtle, with the representation of the head as the lower oval below it, and the yellow leg next to it? I really like how you blended the colors together in the shell part but left the yellow of the head and leg by itself. Lovely, Jack!

I can't help but wonder if you did this one, Jack, in remembrance of the big tree in our back yard. It was a terrific tree once, wasn't it. So is yours. Great work.

these strokes suggest something birdlike to me, like a crane with her head and neck bending down to preen herself after a nice cool bath in a quiet pond.

wow, this one suggests a future in medicine--it looks a lot like a skeleton, doesn't it?

Mostly vertical but some tentacles of horizontal forms are there, kinda hiding. Interesting color choices. Great contrasts.

I think there is movement here….a progression of sorts. Vertical AND horizontal. As well as consistency of color scheme. And an added suggestion of facial elements. Hope this was fun, the most important part! Well done Jack!
