Beautiful weaving! I’m so glad you’re getting to study fiber art. And you created such a pretty and cozy blanket for the kitty. Sadie would love to cuddle with a soft, beautifully woven blanket like that. (I would too!)

You’ve created such a bold winter landscape with simple forms and a few strong colors! Even though you used flat pieces of paper your landscape has such depth. We usually don’t think of a snowy landscape as being colorful, but yours sure is!

You’ve created a group of really cool cats! I love their brilliant colors. They have a great sense of presence. Are they purring? Do they want to play? Are they nagging for food?

I think you were learning about perspective and how to create space, and you sure did use your colored marks to flow into space toward the upper corner. Well done! Lots of energy flowing into space!

There are a lot of creepy Halloween things in your picture like bats and spiders and a mouse and lots os “Boos.” But your ghost looks so friendly and cheerful that I think this is really a Happy Halloween picture. It makes me want to join him to go trick or treating!

Your colors and lines express such happy energy! Is that why the pallet is smiling?

I think it’d be fun to own your color wheel and then I could just point to one of the colors to let people know how I was feeling rather than having to explain. I want to spend the most time in yellow!

What a lovely bunch of flowers! And the sweet pastel colors make me think of sweet floral aromas. I imagine it must have been fun to make this too! I hope you’ll tell me about how you mixed the colors and then printed them onto the paper.

I’m so glad you’re learning about making prints! I love how you were able to make both a red and a green version of the same thing.

I love how you used Basquiat’s dinosaur to create your own original vision. The clouds and hearts and pastel colors make me feel as if I’m seeing a happy, gentle story rather than a scary one.

Your roly-poly penguin is so cute! The cool pastels of the sky are so pretty, and also let us feel the cold place that the penguin lives. Your curvy lines help us to experience the soft mounds of snow. I think this image would make a beautiful T-shirt decoration too!

What a beautiful winter painting! It would make a cool Christmas card. The contrast of line and dots gives it such energy against the empty background. Your bold brushstrokes remind me of Chinese ink paintings. Maybe your mom and dad or your teacher will show you some examples.

This is he cutest “Fireball” character I have ever seen!! Especially love her teeth and ears!! You did an excellent job on her eyes too!!

You’ve created an amazing monster! He’s cotton candy fluffy, but has lots of sharp teeth. His striped horns are cool, but also sharp. But his big, shiny eyes seem to say he’s surprised to see us looking at him. They make me wonder what he’s thinking.

Your pumpkins are so plump, and their dark green shadow gives them such solidity. They’re just sitting under the blue Fall sky just waiting to be carved. Let’s hope a squirrel doesn’t get to them!

Love this exploration of color! Kandinsky would’ve loved it too. Look at all the color combinations and the different effects they create. Are they rainbows?Planets? Plates? Or just beautiful, vibrating colors?
