I love the richness of the colors in this one and the mood. It looks like a beautiful, cold winter night, with a full moon illuminating the fresh snow all around. The sky is very active with snow and stars competing for center stage- reminiscent of Van Gogh’s Starry Night! Merci has a good sense of proportion and scale. This piece is reallllly good!

This is another example of Merci’s use of color to create a sense of drama- the dark background tells us it’s night, but all the lights in the buildings are on and the bright colors tell us there’s some kind of celebration going on! Very festive!

I love the sense of drama Merci creates with her use of color. For example, in this piece, the background is black and white, and then there is a dramatic splash of the rainbow-gloved arm on top of it all. Really nice!
