I could tell right away this was a lighthouse. You did a great job using the oil pastels here. My favorite part is the light beaming out from the sides. I can see my self entering through the red door and climbing to the top to look out for approaching ships to help guide them in from sea.

Wow, I love this piece of artwork you created! Is the white circle an eye ball? It caught my attention right away and I am impressed by the small details you included here. Great job!

Wow! I love the colors you used here. Do you get to bring your artwork home? I’d love to see your collection in person the next time I visit to hear about how you created each one. Keep up the good work!

What a thoughtful piece you created! Using all blue to convey your feelings of sadness is powerful. I think using different shades of blue in your self-portrait really captures that feeling.

“Feeling blue - Long ago, people thought sadness could feel like little blue ‘devils’ whispering worries in your head, so they called them the blue devils. Sailors also used blue flags when they were grieving, to show their hearts were hurting. Over time, people kept the color blue as a quiet code for feeling sad. So when someone says they’re ‘feeling blue,’ it means their heart feels a little heavy, but it will pass.” Thanks for sharing a little about yourself and how you feel at time Colin. Love you, Gma K

Great contrast of the black against the green and outlining the leaf with the black was a nice touch!

Very nice looking leaf, Colin. You’ll have to tell me how you made those designs on the letters - super detailed!

This is very cool Colin. It looks like a ‘shark’ leaf to me. The letter “i” looks like the shark’s teeth. Nice work!

Wow, look at all the fans at the stadium. I wish I could be in the stands cheering on the teams with you. I can see how much time you spent to create this masterpiece. The blue and green colors you chose are vibrant and compliment each other well. Keep up the great work, artist.

Yum, look at the delicious cake! What are you celebrating? Can I have a piece with the rich red icing? I bet it would taste as good as it looks.
