What a gorgeous, inspirational work this is. Sophie’s colorful bird set amidst large green leaves brings echoes of works by post-impressionist artists like Gauguin and Rousseau, both of whom painted tropical scenes, some with birds. Love, Grandma Daisy

I don’t know when you created this, Sophie, but it’s perfect now with the Fourth of July coming up!! I love your sparse use of stars, which makes this piece unique and abstract. It reminds me of artworks by the American painter Jasper Johns. He was inspired by a dream to paint a flag and made more than 40 artworks of flags. One sold for more than $36 million!! The soft pallets Sophie uses in her latest creation bring a sense of whimsy. This work is reminiscent of some of the fun pieces by well-known artist Keith Haring, but also foreshadows a future world in which artificial intelligence and robots play an important role.
