What a gorgeous, inspirational work this is. Sophie’s colorful bird set amidst large green leaves brings echoes of works by post-impressionist artists like Gauguin and Rousseau, both of whom painted tropical scenes, some with birds. Love, Grandma Daisy

I don’t know when you created this, Sophie, but it’s perfect now with the Fourth of July coming up!! I love your sparse use of stars, which makes this piece unique and abstract. It reminds me of artworks by the American painter Jasper Johns. He was inspired by a dream to paint a flag and made more than 40 artworks of flags. One sold for more than $36 million!! Did you dream of a flag? Love, Grandma Daisy

Sophie, How wonderful your new artwork is! You make creative use of blurple — the blue/ purple color pallete — here to bring a light, upbeat feeling to the piece. I would happily welcome this joyful animal into my home! Love, Grandma Daisy

Sophie, your bright colors here highligh the joy this pie will bring a family. The detailed windows are a lovely touch that bring coziness and warmth to the indoor scene. The work reminds me of those of pop artist Wayne Thiebaud, famous for his paintings of foodstuffs, such as pies. Just like you, he celebrated abundance. Maybe this is one of your mom’s delicious apple pies? Love, Grandma Daisy

Dear Sophie, This artwork is delightful! You are adept as using color to create a certain mood. This little spook appears joyful as he floats through his somewhat gloomy abode. He is sure to make viewers happy! Love, Grandma Daisy

The soft pallets Sophie uses in her latest creation bring a sense of whimsy. This work is reminiscent of some of the fun pieces by well-known artist Keith Haring, but also foreshadows a future world in which artificial intelligence and robots play an important role.

Sophie’s fish is my favorite of her works so far. The muted colors and delicate drawing take me back to my serene days of scuba diving in beautiful oceans across the world. Thank you for this wonderful work of art. Grandma Daisy

Sophie, I love your latest work. It reminds me of the fabulous art by African-American artist Nick Cave. Like the “sound suits” he makes, your art brings lively color and movement. It also makes me think of the colorful, story-telling quilts made by Faith Ringgold. Please keep creating. Love, Grandma Daisy

I love you new artwork, Sophie!! The muted colors and the primitive style you use in this work do remind me of Frida Kahlo's art. What talent you have!

There is something so much like the famous artist Van Gough that I love about this one! The angles on the hairline and the way you drew your face too and the heart buttons I love!
