This mixed-media piece is an eruption of shapes. I see color moving out of the primordial soup, spilling over the frame, into lives of their own. Perhaps it reflects the artist’s growing maturity. Perhaps it was just fun to do. Either way, I like it. Keep showing yourself Joseph.

This collage is a solid piece, just like Joseph. I can’t believe you haven’t been to the southwest part of the U.S., because it reminds me of the native Indian tribes in that area. I think we should all go and see for ourselves. They have totem poles and headdresses that use this bird-man symbol. Keep up the good work. Love.

Joseph’s paintings are like Picasso’s paintings - both playful and scary. The colors and positions are real enough to tell us where we are (outside in the snow with birds and snowmen), but the characters are scary. Maybe that’s what he’s trying to say. This is good art.
