Layla, please tell me about this next time I see you - I see the one evergreen tree, but what I also like is that it looks like snow on grass in the foreground. Was this done using pastels? Can we do this technique together sometime?

Layla this one is gorgeous! Such colorful fish - are they in the aquarium? Or maybe in a pool outside next to an aquarium? You have created some wonderful artworks this year and I hope we can paint together this summer. You are almost a third grader and you are growing smarter every day! I am looking forward to seeing you more often after school is out, my little mermaid - love you!

Layla, I forgot to leave you a comment on this one! It definitely has a story to tell, so you will have to tell me about it next time I see you. Is it a little home or nest under a bridge for some happy creature? did you use crayons and watercolors together for this one? That's such a good idea - I like that combination!

Layla, I like this one alot! It is woven strips of paper, right? The 2 colored areas on top of it really catch my attention. Are they stenciled on it, or are they done by a type of block printing? They are unexpected and make the entire thing very interesting and unusual, which is exactly what art projects hope to be! You are certainly inspiring me

Oh, Layla Grace, your self portrait is just the cutest! and the framework of blocks around your portrait is so colorful and interesting. I see that you've included "beach" there. We should take some paints and easels and sturdy canvas boards to the beach this summer and paint "en plein air", which in French means painting outside. Let's plan on it! Love you, sweet girl!
