Elijah, I like this painting of a sunset. I especially like the colors used. It reminds me a little of a crayon drawing that a friend of mine (and me) drew a number of times in about 4th grade. I can't remember if the trees in it were palm trees or some other kind. But we each liked the drawing so much that we drew it over and over. Grampa

Elijah, I like collage (primarily because I'm not very good at drawing or painting). What you've done here with this one is pretty cool. Keep up the good work in art class.

That reminds me of what my badly decayed tooth looked like after the gold crown that had been put on by the dentist fell off. Brush your teeth twice a day! Or you'll end up like me.

Take me out to the ball game, Take me out with the crowd, Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack, I don't care if I ever get back, Oh it's root root root for the Cubbies If they don't win it's a shame! For it's One, Two, Three strikes, Your OUT! At the old ball game. (Jonathan seemed to know what Cracker Jack was, when I sang this in the van.) Love, Grampa

Elijah, Your shape animal looks like a caterpillar to me. Is that what it is? Does he have a little tail, or is that a poop hanging off his rear end? Is he smoking a green cigar? Usually caterpillars just eat leaves. Grampa

Great art project Elijah! The project description - Donuts with Grownups - makes me think of my 2 favorite types of donuts: 1) regular cake donuts with liberal amounts of fresh chocolate frosting! and 2) apple cider cinnamon and sugar donuts!

Your heart picture reminds me of kites. It would be a great design to put on a great big kite. Also, did you know that the French word for "Heart" is related to our word for "Courage"? I didn't realize that until just a few months ago.

Elijah, That was a great collage and painting based on "Starry Night". I bet you didn't know that the cover Grandma has for her Amazon Fire tablet is a reproduction of "Starry Night". Take a look at it the next time your are over here. Grampa

Wow, Elijah, what a great project this was! I love Van Gogh's paintings and Starry Night is a favorite. Great job, buddy!

Hey Elijah, That's a great snowman. (Or should I call it a "no-man" like Jonathan would.) Grampa

Elijah, I love the owl you drew. It was just about a year ago that I heard an owl hooting in our neighborhood when I was on our sidewalk. That was the first time in my life that I actually heard an owl. It was so cool. I really also like the 3-dimensional depiction of the hole in a tree with the owl in it. It looks very realistic. Nice work! The great thing about primary colors is that by combining them you can create all the other colors. Red and Yellow make Orange. Red and Blue make Purple. Blue and Yellow make Green. All of this is for when you are combining Paint. - However - If you combine colored LIGHT, the primary colors are Red, Green and Blue. Blue and Green light make Cyan (a blue that is a bit blue-greenish), Red and Blue light make Magenta (a pink that is a little purple-ish), and Blue and Green light make Yellow. Kind of weird, isn't it? Back to when you are working with Paint - I think you have to mix all 3 (Blue, Yellow and Red) you get brown.

I LOVE what you did with the primary colors! This picture is just wonderful.

Great pumpkin Elijah! It reminds me of me - when I was a kid - short... and fat. At least I'm not short any more.

Nice rendering of a Masai blanket on Elmer The Elephant. Let's try to remember for me to show you the Masai blanket I have. Grampa

Elijah, I love this still-life drawing of sunflowers and a vase (I like the pronunciation vaaaahz the best). Your use of yellow in the vase to reflect and intensify the yellow of the flowers was very insightful. Grampa

I love this, Elijah! It can be hard to draw faces but you did a wonderful job. Were you wearing a colorful shirt that day?

That's a scary looking spider Elijah. I wouldn't want him in my house.

What beautiful colors you used in this piece of art! I bet it took a bit of time and a lot of patience to make this. Great job, Elijah!

Wow, Elijah, I love this. What a lot of good work you put into this picture. I really like the shape of the moon and the face on the sun.

Nice job! Since they look like tents, I'd propose a title of "An In-Tents Experience" or... "Pitch Your Tents!".

Did you know there are 18 different types of penguins? One type even lives close to the equator!

Maybe we should give this one the title - Pumpkin Power!!

The email said this was Untitled. At first I thought it could be titled "Glubs", but then realized they are not gloves, so instead I propose... "Mittenths"! And they are indeed very festive mittens. Nice job Elijah.

I can see the tree now. Looks like I need to get my glasses updated.

Grampa, that's a tree on the left. There's no eyes on it.

Elijah, I love that drawing of wild things, especially the big one on the left side. Looks like he has a really big mouth. Does he have 1 eye, or 2 eyes?

Elijah - I like that drawing of the 2 pumpkins. They look like they are really fast. Are they super-hero pumpkins?

Great blend of macro-impressionism with a cubist perspective for a classic landscape piece. Very nice color sequencing as well.

That's the best piece done in the early cubism style that I've seen in many many years.

Hi Elijah....what a great job you did ont his picture! I can tell you worked very, very hard on it. It looks a little bit like it could be Teddy Bear wearing a shirt. Is it? Love you Grandma
