This is really a beautiful piece of work! I like that it looks both soft and structured at the same time. The idea of a "flat basket" challenges my idea of what a "basket" is ... like, is a flat basket just a tray? Or if it's woven, does it become a basket? You are someone who questions everything and so this is kind of a perfect match with your willingness to do things your own way....even if you did it just because it was easier !! Sometimes things that are easier can also be very beautiful :)

Hi Reuben, We love your new round artwork ! We can feel the softness of the wrapped string material around the white center lengths and with all of the black strings on top, it is very nice and symmetrical !! Congratulations on another beautiful art piece !! Grandma Shelley and Grandpa Howie

This is the happiest cup o' cocoa I have ever seen! Even the mallows are happy! I love the shading on the mug and the flames, and I like the way the shape of the marshallows is an echo of the shape of the mug. The candy cane adds a delicious pop of color. The tiny feet and hands are so cute. Now I want cocoa!

Hi Reub !! We loved your new artwork with LeBron James wearing the GOAT sunglasses !! Its really a neat way to show him as the "Greatest of All Time" for his super basketball and other things he does You really captured his face and smile on there too !! You are a great artist, baseball player, Manga reader and knowledge base, sports enthusiast and you have so much that you know about the sports players and how they play !! Thanks for sharing all your wonderful artwork with all of us !! LOVE !! Grandpa Howie and Grandma Shelley

This is super cool! And very practical! You are really good at recreating the stitching on various sportsballs :)

This is awesome, I love the pops of orange, the white space, and the way the typography and imagery layer over/near each other. I think LeBron himself would love it.

CHOD is the GOAT. Those thighs! Those abs! Those pecs! My favorite parts of this drawing are the gold (star?) to the left of his head, CHOD's sleepy eyes, his incredible plumage. and the contrast between his gleaming physique and the rich blue sky.

Before I zoomed in and then read the artist's statement I thought this was a tile mosaic. Amazing. I love the different tones/saturation levels of the pieces within each color band; it really adds a feeling of texture and depth. I am curious what the flower represents. I love the way the curves and white space of the Cubs logo stands out against the more vertical/horizontal flow of the background tiles. I also feel like I see the silhouettes of people/Chicagoans in the black section, like they are reaching up to hold up the Cubs or as the foundation of the city or something :) This is beautiful!!

As soon as I saw this I thought of Keith Haring; you did a great job evoking his style. I want to hear more about the artist trading cards project and what you think of Keith Haring's work. The taco surrounded by a glowing heart sun creates a joyful energy and I like how the hats on the guys holding it up are maybe shielding them from the intense taco glow :)

I love how realistic the stitching looks - the texture, color, curves. I also like how my brain sort of "completes" the baseball and imagines a shallow dome over the cup that would complete the circle. I also love the contrast of this delicately crafted vessel with the rough-and-tumble energy of baseball. I wonder what it felt like for you to make this with your hands after having held a baseball in your hands so many times. How was it similar or different? Also what drink would be perfect to put in here?!

This is so amazing. I love the composition and the way the outlines move my eyes along the imagery and highlight your pose. So many things important to you beautifully woven together. What skyline is that behind you??

I love the cover of your sketchbook! It was even more vibrant seeing it in real life at back to school night. I love how it captures so many things that are important to you, and i love the contrast between the drippy rainbow and the checkerboard pattern and how it feels three-dimensional.
