Nice work Eli! This is a very accurate drawing! I really like the way you drew the teeth and the smile.

Wow so cool that you are working with wood. I don't know how to do this type of work myself. I'm sure it takes practice and determination to create a finished piece like this one.

I agree that trees are an interesting shape to have drawn. I also appreciate that they are different shades, from white to dark great. This makes the piece dynamic. I also like how the trees are moving in many different directions, it creates a nice movement in this piece.

Very straight and precise line work on this one. You've captured the look of a city, with some buildings in the foreground and others in the background. Amazing what you can do with squares and rectangles!

Oh wow! This looks like it must have been hard work to cut and shape. The black background and depth really make the pizza pop. This one is lots of fun! Hope you put it up in your room Eli! I hope to see it on person on my next visit.

You can really see the difference between the foreground and background in this one!

This looks like it could be an "Eli" book cover. You have a knack for drawing letters in different fonts Eli.

woah... looks like the house is smaller than the soccer ball!

OOh very fun Eli! You'll have to show me how you did this one! Maybe you can make an M one next :)

Ooh! ACDC! Rock on. The lettering and coloring are both very neatly done here! Lots of love, Aunt Mari

Ahh! SO cute!! The hand you drew grabbing the "hot dog" in the middle is so realistic as well, it looks very 3D!

You are following in your Grandpa's footprints with this city scape.

I loved the cartoon flavor of this drawing, and found the "hot dog" to be particularly funny. I enjoyed the sense of humor shown in this drawing.

Great use of perspective Eli. The windows, walls and floor are aligned in a very realistic way. Looking forward to seeing you soon!

This looks like a really interesting technique! I wonder if you kept going, do you think you could create a bowl and plate this way? I'd love to learn how to build using yarn. Maybe you can teach me?

Love this Eli! The pattern is very sweet. This could be a drinking cup, a pencil holder, a vessel to collect coins...what will you use it for?

I can't wait to see this one at home because the texture looks so interesting and I want to touch it myself. I think it's cool that you got to learn the technical skills to put together a functional pot. I think functional art is so satisfying to make! I hope you had fun doing it.

Looks great! A coping saw is like a manual scroll saw or like the Band Saw you used during your visit. Finish carpenters use a miter saw and also a coping saw to create a perfect miter joint. We can cut a stencil out of some hardwood on the band saw next time and use a good finish to bring out the wood grain during your next visit. :-)

The shading and use of dark and light make this piece very visually appealing. I think it would make a lovely greeting card or small framed piece of art.

This sounds like a neat project. I'd love to hear more about this one! Is the idea that people could use your container to play a game with one another?

I love how happy he is! He has a great mustache too.

The background is interesting and complex. I love the techniques you chose. I think the line work is well done too. I could imagine this being an album cover for a musical artist!

Looks great! My favorite art of yours yet.

This is cool Eli. I love how the hoodie is darker. I'd call this hip street art.

WOW. Very cool. You see this style for skateboarding, bands, and other progressive themes.

That looks wonderful, Eli. Excellent job! :-)

There is such gentleness and dynamic shading I see in this piece. I like the mix of softness and hardness. It would make a beautiful card or framed work of art.

For some reason I have a sudden hankering for Steak n Shake!

Mmm this one makes me hungry. I appreciate the use of bright, bold colors in this piece! I like all the detail on the hamburger too, I can see so many toppings!

You have a theme going. The image makes me hungry1 Keep it up.

Another very fun piece! The checkered pattern really draws your eyes into the center of the piece. The colors you choose really pop as well. I appreciate the sense of symmetry to the work with the blue balanced on the top left and top right side, having green on both the left and right in the middle, and one sport on each side as well at the bottom. Excited to see more!

So many vibrant colors and detailed shading, Eli! I'm particularly attracted to the solid black and white one. I could imagine this one being a logo or icon for a company as it's really bold and eye-catching. Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

"All the things that are loved"... great topic. I'm with you on pizza, trees, blue skies, and basketball. I love watching you play baseball.

I love this series, Eli. Once in art school we were asked to make a hundred drawings of a common object. I chose my key ring. By the end, the drawings had gotten pretty weird. Keep it coming!

French fries! The image you chose is iconic. I'd love to hang this up in the house.

This reminds me of you, Eli. I like how you used blue in the top two triangles and patterns in the top three. It looks cartoony, which I also like.
