Birch, The extraordinary animal is just delightful - and sweet natured too! I want one! I think his mane is particularly lovely and fanciful, but everything -the lashes- the pic nose , the heart on the forehead and colored zebra stripes has a magical appearance and make me want to get to know him.

Birch ,yourSanta is just charming! I love the rosy cheeks and genial way he appears to be raising his cap in greeting! Whatever is in that tiny package?

The white beard suggests to me that this is a rendition of Santa Claus. Am I right? Grandpa

Birch, that looks like chocolate sauce pouring over a head if ice cream--as pretty as it is tasty. Grandpa

Birch, I really like #24. The choice of colors is interesting, and they seem to blend one into the next one. If I had to say what I think the picture depicts I would say it is looking down from shoulder level of several tall people who have their feet touching each other. But I do not think every picture has to depict a scene--it is ok if the shape and colors are interesting which these certainly are. Grandpa

I FIN D ALL THE COLORS OF THE COLOR WHEEL IN YOUR PICTURE, BIRCH. AND THAT MIGHT BE A SPIDER AND IT MIGHT BE A FLOWER? YOU SOMEHOW ACHIEVED DIMENSION IN YOUR PICTURE- REALLY INTERESTING!

Nice work, Birch. You have combined curved shapes with triangle shapes to make such an interesting portrait. I also like the colors of the background which is not static but dynamic--so you must know the difference between those two words.

I love this one, Birch. someone-maybe you- is holding their hand up in class (so politely). There is something optimistic about it, despite the dark background(and I can see those forms in the shadows).

Birch, The looks to me like someone is pointing to what may be a star--am I right? I like the way the hand looks like it is wearing a glove--or maybe you just wanted to make it look more interesting?

Birch, That looks like an interesting fishbowl--each one with a different shape and color. They all look pretty happy swimming there.

Birch, the name must be both the chicken's name and the name of the flower--both with tall necks and abundant cheer. Nice job!

Birch, I can not tell if this is above the level of the ocean or below it--which makes it all the more interesting.

Birch, I think you have created an animal--maybe a deer head on?--but you have shrouded it with mysterious background colors and swirls. Maybe with one ear up and one ear down it is displaying unhappiness. Or is that laughter? Sometimes the two moods are similar.

Thing Three is a friendly looking guy and I would pleased to have him drop in for an afternoon at my house!

Birch, You should be a cartoonist! I like the unruly hair, the turtleneck shirt, the wide iron and the estrous slogan "Thing 3". Nice work.

Birch, I love the way you have some of the sheep cut out of sheets off music--sort of makes me think of a lullaby ands falling to sleep counting sheep.

Birch, Your picture somehow looks to mer like a cat with its tail curled up in its arm. Yes?

oh Birch, that little person looks unhappy, or confused? It makes me a liiitle d sad.

Birch, It looks to me like you have a subject who has all sorts of ideas running through his mind but hasn't quite sorted them out into words. Grandpa

Birch, That looks a little like bubble-wrap. Maybe you were trying to be sure none of the other pieces got broken!

Birch, That picture looks like a snake--but one made out of various pieces of things. Very interesting. Grandpa

Birch, I love the dog running through the snow. He seems so happy and warm with his ears pinned back (a sign he is going really fast) and his tail up (a sign he is enjoying himself). How did you make the snow look so real? Grandpa

Birch, Have you ever read the story of "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas"? Your picture seems to have the face of a Grinch, but with a Santa Claus hat. Nice work! Grandpa

Birch, Your picture of a young person enjoying the outdoors is excellent. I see you included rosy cheeks, snowflakes, a scarf, a ski hat and warm clothes. The way the arms are extended expresses the joy you are portraying. Nice job! Grandpa

Birch, I love the way you color each shape in a different shade. To me these look like various vegetables--carrot, eggplant, mushroom, banana--but maybe you were thinking of different forms of seashells.

Birchie, What an interesting artwork. In some ways it looks like a very tall cake--but then it looks like a statue with both blond hair on one side and dark hair on the other. But the top looks like ears--or maybe just a hat. I think you must have had a lot of fun creating this. Grandpa

Ha ha, Birch, I love especially the determined look in the eye of this little fellow. He looks pleased but protective of his catch.

Birch, This looks to me like two pieces of pottery on adjoning tables who start talking to each other when they think no one is listening. I like the way you have blended colors so one shades into another.

This little chicken looks a little surprised herself at the array of wonderful feathers!

Birch, Your picture looks to me like a small dark-colored bird being hatched from a bright-colored egg. Am I right? Nice work!

Birch, I love your latest art "Untitled". The two parts look to me like soccer balls waiting to be kicked. Or maybe it is the same ball before and after it gets kicked? Thanks for sharing.

Birch! You crayons are wonderful - colors so bright and clear just like the real thing! And i love the steady black lines and oval which brings it all to life. Beautiful!

Birch, that little bird is your best yet.! He might be a pigeon and he might just be a baby quail. I like the way he is watching carefully but standing his ground. Love that soft saturated blue of the body.

Birch, I like the strong colors that you use, and the very clear outline of the bird figure. The bird's eyes reflect curiosity. And the background looks like Granny';s coloring board in our kitchen. Thanks for sharing! Grandpa

Birchie, That is the best Dr. Seuss I have ever seen. Excellent whiskers;beautiful hat and tie; and the expression on his face is perfect. Nice job! Grandpa

Wow, Birch, that is a very exciting composition, and the colors are luscious and inviting. Can I have one?

Birch, I love your new piece! Have you ever seen a gum ball machine--it has a glass case with a lot of round-shaped candies inside that you can push a button and one comes out. Your "untitled" makes me think of that, but it might also be something else, or nothing else. Nice work! Grandpa
