I have learned something. However, I do not know what flaming goes are.

Lilah, I actually saw this piece 'in the flesh' the other day! The photo doesn't do it justice. This is one of my favorites of the art you've posted during the year. It just makes me smile, and I don't know why! Bisous xoxo Nini

Holy cow! I was puzzled by this piece. I love the colors, and I saw the repetition of shapes. I had to look up the word "tessellation", I had no idea what it meant. Now I know. I see the 'flaming goes', and I think you chose a challenging subject for a tessellation! Thank you for sharing all your wonderful art projects this year, Lilah. I've really enjoyed sharing your adventures in art creativity and creation!

Lilah - this is SO COOL! I love the use of color and the fun pattern of the "flaming-goes"....nicely done! Sending love to you!

Lilah...wait.... First of all, who is Arrietty? And secondly...is this entire piece made of clay? It's a little difficult to tell from the one photo online. It is an amazing piece, so imaginative. Makes me smile! At first glance I thought the food was real...but it's not....is it? I'm still not 100% sure! Well done! xoxo

Lilah, I love the cheese platter art piece. It looks so real, I can almost taste and smell the offerings. Keep creating. You are doing great. Love Pa Jac.

I really like this piece. You've captured the 'wetness' of the water drops, their droplet shapes and their mass, with shading and highlights. I think this must have been a challenging assignment. Well done!

Determination to achieve your goals! Making disappointment the motivation to persevere, an invitation to continue toward your goal. An important life lesson. I like this piece, Lilah. It is warm and somehow comforting, a small brave light in the darkness.

Lilah, not only is this a fantastic image you created, the message you conveyed is, in itself, very inspiring. It choked me up and inspires me to keep on no matter is thrown at me. I Love your work and your words. Pa Jack.

Lilah, this is a wonderful piece of art. All the different eyes, and by extension, all the different ways of seeing. Your statement about the piece and about life --so true, and so beautifully expressed--..."the passage of life and time, relentless in its strai(gh)t path, always present but never noticed. Always watching us. Always ignored."

Wow Lilah- this is fabulous! The many-eyed mushroom. She can see us, in all dimensions. Truly excellent. Love you to the moon and back. Tata Erika

Lilah, this blew me away. The drops are so realistic that I thought the drops wer magnifying the paper below each drop. Very well done!!! Could you make me one?
Posted 9 months ago by Pa Jack (fan)
Lilah this is fantastic! I can feel the three-dimensionality of each drop. Excellent work.

Wow Lilah this is spectacular!!! So realistic. When I first looked, I thought it was a photograph! So so good. Sending love

Lilah, I like this a lot, they look like real droplets--- but I'm not sure I understand how you did it. Did you draw each droplet? And then apply highlights and shading? If so, great job! It's an intriguing piece. I like the soft gray tones.

Lilah, you’ve definitely captured an essence of Tessa in this art, a facial expression that’s so ‘Tessa’. An impish amusement in the face. Your choice of colors highlights the fun. And I can feel the strong sister bond and the love between you. It’s a gift to be able to express yourself and share your feelings in your art—and in your music! Such a warm piece, I love it!

Lilah- You have no idea how you affect me. I think we are all lucky to have you and your sweet sister in our lives. I am so impressed with your communicative abilities. You are way beyond your years and you should keep on developing your talents. I love this drawing of Tessa. I agree with you that Tessa is also a delight to be around and is also very talented. Keep up the good work. Love you Both!!!

Lilah - Wow. This is so heart-felt. You capture Tessa's artistic expression so beautifully. It's incredibly touching to read your articulate and deep feelings for Tessa. You're so lucky to have each other. I'm sure she feels the same way about you. I'm so proud of your artwork, your writing skills, your many talents and qualities, and for how truly sensitive and loving you are. It's truly a privilege to know you. I love both you and Tessa to the moon and back! :)

Really cool! Green tomatoes. Did you actually look through the microscope as a basis? Isn't it amazing how nature creates art just by simply going about its existence?
Posted 1 year ago by Ben (Father)
Lilah, wait--- I really like this piece, but I can't quite figure out what the medium is. It looks lifelike, almost like a photo... If you drew/painted it while looking through a microscope? Well done, it really looks like cells to me!
Posted 1 year ago by Nini??
This is a fabulous rendition of cells, Lilah! And I’m surprised that tomato skin cells are being depicted as green and purple. Stretches the imagination. And I love the way they’re all differently shaped and sized. It is so inspiring to see complex forms and beautiful shapes coming directly from nature. Well done!

Wow Lilah - great work! Your color wheel of candles is beautiful! And your description is full of meaning. As you probably know, the autumn equinox is this coming Sunday. Candles become more cozy and a warm source of light and hope in the darker times of the year. Candles can also act as light-filled reminders of those we love.
Posted 1 year ago by Tata Erika
Dear Lilah, I like your colorful candles shining brightly in the blackness--with some defying the laws of physics as their flame burns straight and strong--even upside down! The candles bring light and happiness to my heart and spirit. xoxo

That's really very cool. We used to take photo sensitive paper and put objets like grass, leaves, twigs, etc on it and expose it to the light. A design would appear on the paper, but it was very flat. Yours has depth. Good work. Pa Jack

Lilah, I'd never heard of cyanotypes--very interesting. The process is similar to photography, isn't it? I'd be interested to hear more about how you did this piece. What do you think of it?? How did you chose what objects to use? Thank you for posting!

So cool! Nice Sharpie work. Lines are at the heart of drawing, and are so powerful. These are good lines. Also the stark contrast makes an impact, especially when coupled with such intricate patterns and fine shapes. Also: is the artist looking at her hand while travelling in an alternate dimension, and this is what she sees? I know this is a far fetched interpretration, but that's what is cool about art: it provokes wonder and dreams, and the viewer is ultimately able to generate their own sort of art in their imagination, keyed off what the artist provided. Love it.

Lilah, this is a lovely piece! Pen and ink? It’s so detailed and intricate, it must’ve taken quite a while. I like the way the movement of the piece reaches upward. You also express the deep connection between human beings and the natural world.

This is just fabulous. I love it, Lilah. Gives me a feeling both of energy and calm at once. Many people are drawn to patterns, because they are predictable and give a sense of calm. Yet at the same time, changes in patterns can excite and delight. You did both! Beautiful work! Love, Tata Erika

Ma puce, I remember that hike well. And your painting accompanied by your words as descriptive as a brush, paint such a wonderful picture. It is a challenging hike, and that first time you had to meet the unknown, not knowing you'd be able to finish, uncertain of your own strength and determination. And you did it, with such grace and ease. I cherish this hike and all the time we have climbed Ajax together. A wonderful journey, where we meet our own limits and with gentle strength and unwavering determination we discover our strength. Doing it together is such a wonderful gift. This is indeed a very special painting.
