This may be my favorite too. So far. I'm fascinated by Praying Mantises. I thought I was raising a "baby" one (nymph). Turns out it's an Assassin Bug. A whole other story, though. Mantis eyes are a very prominent feature; I like the blue as creative license! I also like his mandibles, the business end of a mantis, along with their raptorial legs (grabby front ones, which you also included). Thanks for the share, Finn!

Monochromatic is a mouthful of a word, never mind capturing it in art. You've done a fabtastic job of using red hues to give depth and interest; you did capture your features evenly :) In other words: nicely done, Finn xo

I usually see a note about your inspiration for your artwork, am not finding one this time (undoubtedly Greema error) -- but I'm intrigued by this piece! Appears to be 3D; I love the colors and graphics.

Finn, this is a great composition that follows the guidelines you were given. Very "Modernist", if I remember my college art classes (ok maybe I don't) BUT I thoroughly enjoy your artwork!

Finn, this is very good! I especially appreciate your explanation in the artist's statement. It's very well thought out and well done1

Finn, this is amazing! I love that I had to really look hard at it to find your name, but then found all of the other things you wrote about in your artist’s statement. It’s a wonderful picture!

It IS a challenge to use scissors as part of making a collage, getting it to match your overall "vision". I agree that the turkey is terrific, but do also love the steak's eyes ;) You're a very talented artist, Finn. Happy to see you exploring all mediums!

I’d say it’s very good for your first time. What made you think of meat people?

These are really good bears. I’m glad you stuck with it and finished it!

Finn, I need to correct my comment. My computer "corrected" some words for me when I wasn't paying attention. Greeks thinks they’ll eat he face should have really said Greema thinks they'll eat her face. I don't know how Greeks feel about giant spiders.

This is a wonderful painting and I love Matisse! I like your giant spider, too! Greeks thinks they’ll eat he face.

I'm impressed by your Matisse reference! I think I was 19, before I even heard of him. This piece does remind me of his work -- bright colors, simple shapes -- but is all You :) Keep creating, Finn!

Looking good, Finn.

Today I Learned, what a zentangle is! I love this piece; the black/red contrast, especially. You're a terrific artist.

That looks really cool! Maybe soon you explain what a Zentangle is!

I think I live somewhere within this galaxy ;) Beautiful piece, Finn!

Terrific colors, and fun finding the snail, mole, etc! I love getting notices about your art xo
Posted 2 years ago by Greema
This is very creative, Finn! I also like the mole and the snail. And the colors are just what it looks like when I look out my window!

Art comes mostly from the heart, but you're learning a lot of techniques that help express it! I wouldn't change a thing on this one, but that's your call, as the creator. Chef's kiss ;)

That's definitely a bubble problem! And a very fun photo booth!

You used positive and negative space really well. I wouldn't change a thing!

You have a great imagination. Keep up the good work

Looks like this project's name was "Name Plates" -- you've done a terrific job on the letters in your name, it can be a challenge to outline them like that! The guys, the colors, are a lot of fun. I like the idea of bigger paper next time -- the bigger the better, when it comes to your art :)

This one is extra fun. I like how the 4 frames of your photobooth tell the story of Jeff and Bob's Bubble Problem (Kapow! ;)) Great work, Finn xo

My grandfather (your great-great-grandfather) was an artist. He taught me the lines for eyes, nose, and mouth (1/2 way down go the eyes, etc...!) He'd be just as proud of your self-portrait, and all your artwork, as I am. It's wonderful having another artist in the family :)

This is so good, Finn. I can feel your emotions!

The face is one of the hardest things to draw. You did a great job! And you’ll get better at it the more you practice!

This is one of your most interesting works of art! I love that the human eye was your inspiration. We have a lot of your art in our home, because it inspires everyone who sees it. Thanks for sharing this new piece!
