I LOVE your Bean!! I can see many of Chicago's buildings and love the different colors of each one. It is amazing how you shaped the building from the reflections in the Bean. The sculpture is curved and so are your buildings. This is a great reminder of where you live and how cool this city is!!

Oh my Gosh! This is an amazing painting!! I love all the brushstrokes and lines you created after studying Abstract painters. Miro, Pollock, Kandinsky, Rothko are some of my favorites. You did a great job blending them into the background. And the words you chose to express yourself speak to who you are. A leader who loves her mom and friends and is a good sister. Your love of art, blue and black, ice cream, winter and cats says a lot about you! You expressed yourself through paint and words. Really great art Penelope!!! Love you, Nana

Hey P! I love this new work. It looks like you painted over newspaper or pages of a book with watercolors and made new colors by color mixing. It shows you know how to mix colors I love the blues and purples. Great job!! Love you , Nana

I love this penguin! His sunglasses are great and he looks happy even though he is the coldest place on earth. The stripes on the hat and scarf look like the stripes in the background. The colors are so warm and fun, it makes me smile even though I hate being cold! Great job Penelope! You did an awesome job and are a great artist!! Love you,Nana?

Penelope, This penguin has a lot of personality! I love his sunglasses and reminds me that in the article, it is actually sunny a lot of the time. I also love the stripes on the hat and scarf are like the stripes in the background. Good use of the stripes. There are so many warm colors in the painting that make me happy even though I don’t like the cold and snow! You did an awesome job and are a super artist. Love you ?

Great job Penelope! Your ballet dancer looks just like Degas. I love the way you made the body big enough to fit the skirt. Her arms are really good and shows the expression that she is dancing. The purple color looks a lot like the purple in her skirt. I can tell her hair is pulled back and of course it is blonde! Remind me to show you pictures of Degas paintings that I have in my studio. You are becoming a really great artist! Love you XOXOX, Nana

Hey Penelope! Basquait is one of my all time favorite artsists. You chose to paint with bright colors and make a scary dinosaur. Basquait would love your sharp shapes and the name King! When you visit us, I will show you our print that he did! Love you, Nan

This polar bear is terrific. The dark color around the bear makes him really stand out. Imagine if you had kept the background white! You would not have seem him. I would love to know what the red shapes surrounding the bear are. I will ask you on Christmas. Can't wait to see you and talk about the North Pole where polar bears, Santa and the elves live! It would be hard for Santa to use polar bears to pull his sleigh...they weigh way too much!! XOXOX, Nan

Hi Penelope! Jasper Johns is one of my favorite artists. We have one of his drawings at our house. The next time you come to visit, I will show you it! The colors that you painted in the background are really great! It looks like you learned how to mix colors and create new ones. We can do this in my studio together. I love how fast you are growing into an amazing artist!!! Love you,Nan

Hey P! This painting is really cool. I like the way you look like you are on a ladder which is made of popsicle sticks. It looks like you were pasting the moon in the sky! The colors in the painting you used are perfect for the night sky. Hooray! Good job! ??Nana
