Dear Ruby, I'm noticing the neat, straight cut lines of your picture pieces. You handle your scissors deftly! I especially like the way the rising smoke seeps from the chimney then expands as it rises, like in real life. I'm proud of your attention to detail!!

Love the color choices! The smoke coming out of the pretty chimney is awesome! Great job Ruby!

Dear Ruby, I LOVE the elephant that you stitched! I like the gray color for the outline, the pink in its ear, and you placed your stitches neatly and evenly - GREAT JOB!!

Hi Ruby, Your larger dog looks like she's guarding the smaller dog, like a mama dog would protect her puppy. Love!!

Ruby, I'm noticing the realism of your work. I see your sculpture turtle has green skin like real turtles and a brown shell like real turtles. You even recreated scales on its shell. I know you have seen pictures of turtles, but have you ever seen a live turtle? Turtle shells are made up of large, hard scales called SCUTES. Most turtles have 13 scutes on the top shell.

Love this turtle. He would fit right in here in Florida. The detail on his shell is very creative. Great job!

Great use of shapes! Ruby, I'm noticing how you must have used zig-zag scissors to create grass. Nice touch!

Dear Ruby, I really appreciate getting to see your work! It looks like you are using watercolors. I like the way your use of black lines makes a strong definition of the images. I see a happy smile! Love, Nana
