This is a really neat mask, Charlie. I like that there are some scary elements like the horns and the fangs and the colors are intimidating - at the same time, the eyes are slanted in a way that seem almost worried. It makes me want to tread lightly near it!

Before your description popped up, I thought to myself - this looks like a demon fish. I assumed that it had been interred for 3,000 years so I undershot that. I like your use of glaze. The fish is so animated!

I love your choice of purples, Charlie. They look great with the greens in the candle. The blue flame is intriguing. Great technique to make it look like wax is dripping down the sides.

Charlie, you’re going to have to come to Iowa to see the real life American Gothic House - in Eldon, IA! They’d love to see your artwork. They have lots of American Gothic artwork in their museum!

Charlie! Wow! Have you been reading my mind? I was just talking to a friend about Basquiat and this art is reminiscent of his style. The colors, the bold lines. It’s great. You really captured that monster! I certainly wouldn’t want to find him on the other side of my closet door!

I had never heard of the artist James Rizzi until I saw your wonderful art, Charlie - I'm glad to have a new artist to check out, thanks to you! My favorite building is the one on the left with the animated smile. After looking at your art and looking at Rizzi's, I'm having a hard time distinguishing the two! You really captured his artistic essence while putting your own Charlie flair into it.

I feel like a real museum insider because I got the inside scoop about this fantastic piece. Look at Frank and Toey and their red ball. I’m so glad to know their names - I feel like I’ve been good pals with them for years. This piece made me think and really take time to understand what was going on. I appreciated that it turned the gears in my brain as I figured out what was going on. Sometimes art is like that - it isn’t always straightforward!

I have been missing something in my life and it's Charlie's fantastic art gallery. I love this happy-looking cat and the mountains behind. I can tell that you're a Colorado kid with those mountains and that lovely night sky. The swirling sky and moon remind me so much of van Gogh - I think that you are following in his footsteps!

Wow - I have been MIA from this art gallery and what a fabulous piece of artwork to see upon my return. I love the play between the tie dye-esque background and the geometric cool shapes. Every time I look at it, there is something new and interesting that catches my eye.

What vibrant colors - must be inspired by the bright works of Derain or Matisse! That alien certainly looks like a fun, partying type. I like that festive shirt and what looks like confetti in the background. Well done!

What an impressive space scene! I feel like I'm right there, floating among the stars. The alien in the spaceship is one of my favorite parts - it looks like it has some flames shooting out one end so that it can jet around through space. I see a satellite, too. What a smartie! Look how much you know about space!

What a regal penguin! I enjoy the crown motif that is shared between the ceramic creation and the paper-based artwork that you made earlier. You did a great job with the glazes - those aren't easy to use! Keep up all of the good work, Charlie!

What a friendly-looking caterpillar. I’m transported right to the scene where I am sitting on the green grass under the tree with my bug friends. I have never seen such an interesting cloud. This artist has an eye for capturing my attention and letting my eyes wander. I hope that he keeps creating such masterpieces!
