I had to laugh when I saw your spider artwork. Quite often we have large spiders in the house. Your piece reminds me of them, especially the size! Yes, they do try to claim a spot in our home even though I don't like having them in the house. Interesting idea to consider.

Alaina, We Always enjoy seeing your artwork. The tree reminds me of the maple tree by the mailbox. Right now it is full of beautiful Fall colors. Just like the tree in your piece.

Alaina, I liked your idea of the boot print and how humans impact the earth, but that nature reclaims it. It would be fun to see the picture in person to enjoy the fireflies, puffy clouds and different things you added.

Alaina, Fields of blooming tulips are always gorgeous. I think your painting is a modernistic look at a group of various colored tulips. I bet they were very colorful when you saw them.

Alaina, I'm not familiar with this artist or song, but I like your depiction. Cute idea. I'll have to look up the song and listen to it now!

Alaina, I love this! It looks just like the phone at the end of the couch with the thermometer behind it. I like it that you made the phone stand out. Great job. Special memories with that phone go back to your great grandmother and great grandfather.

Alaina, Love the different birds and their habitat. That took some investigating to have them in their natural areas. I like all of them but especially the hummingbird.

Hi Alaina, This is an interesting art project in that it encourages you to consider your future. Using the "snapshots" of different milestones is a good way to depict the journey (thread).

Alaina, A fun project. I don't know much about Stitch and Angel but they are cute characters to work with.

Alaina, This is impressive. That's just the way George looks when he's face to face with me. Well done. Nice blending of the colored pencils. I did have to laugh about the pj's!

I love this, Alaina. Do you know that I'm working on a Mother's Day Tea that we are going to have at the Hall. Your art piece is right in keeping with what I'm thinking about recently. Loved the doilies, flowers, teapot and cup and saucer. I understand why you have the words since it is to be a journal, but I agree that they somewhat distract from the overall look. Sweet idea and well done. It made me smile when I first looked at it. Since you enjoy flowers, it was nice to include them in your design.

Alaina, It is fun to do an art project connected with Christmas. Interesting that you were blending watercolors. I agree that the tree skirt shows up more than you might have wanted it to. The painting made me smile! Hoping that you have a great Christmas.

Alaina, It is fun to see what you focused on at your high school. They will be areas and symbols that you remember long after you have left Summit. We so enjoy see your work.

Alaina, I enjoyed looking into the details of your drawing. I did find your penguin (cute). I thought your sunflower was very well done. Reminded me of some sunflowers I've seen recently. It was interesting to see how you added in a shadow of the flowers. Glad to hear that you like using this medium. You'll have to do more with graphite.

This is so interesting that you can make such great depictions with various types of lines. I'm glad you are having these various mediums to experience. Great job! I hope you save all your projects.

This is amazing to me that you can make such a lifelike drawing just using dots. I was wondering how long it took to do this project. Seems like it would be quite time consuming. Plus how do you know when you are done? It would seem like you could be adding dots forever! Good work!

Ah..., I love it. I liked that the flowers, leaves, and pot are very distinctive and the background is muted. These are colors I enjoy. Was this a painting of one of your violets at home? We always like seeing what you have been doing. This is a favorite of mine.

Nice work Alaina. This appears as a vase that you can put cut flowers in. That will be nice to have for when you want fresh flowers in the house. I'm wondering how tall the vase is. I can see how the braiding could be hard to get on the vase just the way you want. Looks like a fun project.

Alaina, It is always a joy to see that you have a new artwork posted and then fun to see what you have been working on. Interesting that this piece included a drawing of you. I can see how that might be hard to draw yourself, but I think you did a great job. I appreciate reading your personal comments. You appear to be learning new skills with each project and then able to give yourself constructive comments for future projects.

Interesting what you can do with yarn. This initially reminded me of the coast line with trees and shrubs next to the ocean. The darker colors of yarn looks like deeper ocean areas. The right quadrant looks like a road going along next to a field. One can see many different things in artwork. Enjoyed looking at this one closely to see what you had used and done.

It is interesting that you have similar drawings in your notebooks. You appear to like balloons and these heart-shaped ones make this a great project for Valentines Day! The "chatter" gives some background to your design. Using ink to fill in the gouges and then transferring to paper sounds like a challenge in keeping the ink from not making more "chatter". I always enjoy seeing your projects.

Interesting work Alaina. It reminds me of a psychedelic bug! Some areas the color is very contained and other areas it looks like the colors have bled. I'm interested in knowing what the assignment for this project was. We always enjoy your projects.

The painting reminds me of Mt. Hood. Love the reflection in the water of the mountain and the trees. Good work.

Alaina, As soon as I saw the picture, I knew what it was. How sweet of you to do an art project focused on something from the farm. Love it!!
