This looks like a Bengal cat, and I love how you drew the stripes and the face. You did an amazing job—I’m so proud of you, Toby!

Wow Toby, this is really, really creative. It is cool how you have kept the same shapes but filled them in differently. Your creativity shows how things that are alike can actually be different. I can tell that you have given this artwork a lot of thought. Great job!

The colorful sea creatures you drew are full of life and imagination. They look like sea urchins and maybe even octopuses, but they’re also something totally new and special—something only you could have dreamed up. I especially loved the one smiling on the sand, watching the others swim. That made me smile, too. I’m so proud of you and your amazing creativity. Keep drawing, keep dreaming, and always remember that your imagination is a gift.

As always, great job Toby! With all that you do in your busy days, I bet it was hard to decide what to include in this artwork. I will say that I like your choices, that is for sure. You sure have a way of expressing yourself and I always get excited when I see that new artwork has been posted. Keep up the good work!

Toby, This treehouse is amazing! The perspective on the house is sooo good and I love the sun peeking out in the corner. Ladder access is important too! ? ? Nana

This is a really cool piece of art because there is so much to experience. A coat of arms I presume, and the shield tells different stories. It's great to see our "Lee" name highlighted, and you outdid yourself on this one! Great job Toby.

Might this be titled Koala? Your latest work of art immediately helps me relax and let my mind wander. The backdrop looks comfy, cozy and peaceful for sure. The array of colors adds such a bright display, and it is easy on the eyes. Your artwork is so creative, and it brings together so many shapes and colors. Well done!

Looks like a very, very cold night for them to be outside standing around. I know that winter is just around the corner and those critters better move before their tails freeze! Great job Toby.

Hey, I really like this portrait, along with all of the interesting details. The really cool crown tells me that this is an important person. You also did a great job on the symbols drawn all around the picture, each side with a different pattern. I can tell how much you like to draw and create images. Great job Toby!

Really cool Toby, I could tell that was a Squid right away. I really like the detailed design near the handles of the vase! This is a whole new area of drawing from what I have seen and it is very creative. Well done!

This latest creation is really a new style and a clever way of making your hand "jump out" at the viewer. I think the patterns are creative and unique. A really nice job Toby, well done.

Great job Toby, I am so glad to see that you will continue with your artistic development in the 2nd grade. I would like to hear the story behind this drawing.

I bet it would be nice to be a Happy Butterfly, able to fly around and travel to many places. Your butterfly will enjoy the sunny weather and green, green grass. It is also nice to see your handwriting on your artwork! You certainly have enjoyed your school year, and have learned so many things.

How can a drawing be scary and brilliant at the same time? This one has so many dimensions and colors, I don't know where to focus my eyes first. You certainly have come a long with your ability to create interesting artwork. Wow, nice way to close out your 1st grade year.

This one is so full of shapes, sizes and layers. Very interesting how you have put so much on this one piece of art. I see shapes I recognize and then you have colored and layered other things on top. Please help me understand your process the next time we speak. I suspect there are a lot of stories within this one piece of art!

I hope that building has an elevator because otherwise, there must be A LOT of stairs to get to the window! The straight lines look cool and the roof has so much detail. Thank you for sharing this great work.

Hi Toby, This picture makes me think of the beach and summer! To me, it looks like a chameleon lizard! Is it? There is a pretty big wave coming towards him. Keep of the great work and I look forward to seeing your next one! Love Mimi

This certainly is very busy artwork from you this time. What is the giraffe reaching for near the tree? By the way, is that a Koala hanging out on the branch? I bet the snake has fun living in the forest with so much going on. I really enjoy your latest effort here.

What a beautiful and very active looking homestead you have created for us. I especially like that you captured so much of the farm life in one picture. Next time we talk I hope you will tell me more about this, and let me know what inspired you to do it. Great job!

Great job Toby, I knew it was American Gothic as soon as I looked at it. Very good effort on making the key parts of the portrait jump right out at the audience. This just might be my favorite one so far! Keep up the good work and I look forward to see what's coming next.

What a perfect way to start the holiday season. Great job Toby, this looks like a very happy Snowman. Nice to see that he has company hanging out on his nose! I enjoy seeing all the details you have in this picture. By the way, we made an ornament from this picture and it hangs on our tree.
