I love this one! I think I must have it for my very own.

This piece is really beautiful! The color variation is breathtaking. The palette creates a sense of serenity, but the brushstrokes of the background are suggestive of energetic movement swirling about the focal point. Well done!

Roxanne, as one who likes to paint landscapes, I applaud your interesting shapes and your creating perspective as you lighten the green in moving back from the foreground. Keep up the good work.
- Guin on May 20, 2024 NEW

I love the energy of all these colors dancing with one another. It looks to me as if you had fun with this one.

I love your experiment in blending acrylics. You achieve an interesting sense of distance as if one is inside a forest and looking out at the meadow and sky. Beautiful!

I am curious to know a bit more about this assignment. I think it might help me in interpreting this piece. Naturally, my first reaction was to think of those big sucker rings. Also, I am guessing it is strawberry flavored. The smaller images seem to be about deconstructing the shapes that have resulted in the candy gem. Yes? Who passes up a chance at an all-day sucker that also decorative?
- Mary Ellen on May 8, 2024
That looks just like a lollipop ring… you are so talented! I can’t wait to see your next work of art!!
- Julie on May 8, 2024
Great work. You nailed the colors perfectly. Keep up the great work.

Roxanne, After much thought and consideration about you and your artwork I can only describe it with one paragraph, ''GENIUS"
- grandad on March 13, 2024
This is a very intriguing piece and your vision for it a celebration of that dream. I can't wait to see what you create next.
- DAPHNE on March 13, 2024
I love all the analytical and creative thought that went into this piece. It was a challenge, but you conquered it!
- Lola (Mother) on March 7, 2024

I agree with your mama's comments. Both she and you are more articulate than I am most of the time. This color wheel as iris is a very clever idea. Someone will probably start making these lenses for sale. Although I am not a potential customer of the lenses, I do like the eyelashes. I tried to apply false lashes a couple of times and failed, so I gave up on that idea. It is a little sad when you can actually count the number of your lower lashes, so I will take whatever this lady is using and be a tiny bit closer to perfection.

I love it Roxanne. You are just to talented. Love you. granddad
- Steve on February 7, 2024
Here's looking at you Granddaughter! Luv U! Pretty interesting artwork! What do you call it . . "the look of love" . . ?
- Grandpa Ken on February 7, 2024
There is a fascinating combination of realism juxtaposed a pop art sensibility in this piece. I think it might be one of my favorites this year, too. The overall aesthetic of the eye itself, with its deep texturing among the lashes and shading on the lids, allows for the shocking contrast of the color wheel iris. It's a really inventive project!

Oh, Roxanne! This is so pretty. I think this image would make a beautiful wall hanging! The symmetry of the shapes and delicacy of the colors makes me feel mellow. Can’t wait to see what you share next.
- Daphne on January 31, 2024
I really, really love the burst of colors and the subtle texturing in this piece. The directionality in the composition is pleasing, too. We definitely need to print and frame this one!

I am really enjoying these pieces that feature roundish items, bubbles, drops. One aspect of viewing your art online that I particularly enjoy is reading your thoughts as you reflect on your work. You are completely brave and articulate. I can see a duality between the red and blue in this piece. I am drawn to consider the nature of power and humanity, and I see that although you thought to place the white at the same angle in each circle, as you say, you encountered a slightly unpredictable outcome. Ah, quantum physics. This piece conveys energy, excitement, a bit of mystery. I can't wait to read your book.
- Grandmama on December 13, 2023

The colors are so pretty. The subtle differences in color both within each ornament and from each to the next is captivating. Additionally, I think that your choices and execution in placing the ornaments shows considerable skill.
- Grandmama on December 13, 2023

I love this. I can see what you mean about the dark line on the left and the reflection of light from the window. For me the completion lies in the small drop that has drifted down and away, is even losing its shape, but maybe hasn't yet stopped moving.
- Grandmama on December 13, 2023
This is very impressive,Roxanne. Your Mom said it best. WOW!!
- Patty on December 13, 2023
I love the delicacy of this main drop of water, but when I see the other two droplets--and it took me a minute to focus on them--I started thinking that it looked like the beginning of a new galaxy in space. I think we ought to call that galaxy Roxanne. I love your artwork.
- Aunt Daphne on December 13, 2023
WOW!!!
- Lola (Mother) on December 9, 2023

Beautiful! I love how the colors are at the same time vibrant and subtle. The composition of the ornaments is nice, too.
- Lola (Mother) on December 5, 2023

Floating hearts.....love, love, love, love, love.....and the colors, too. Just beautiful--like, you.
- DAPHNE on December 6, 2023

This piece has a lot of great movement, almost as if it's a screencapture from an animated piece. I bet you could expand the work to create a short animation and perhaps record your own flute accompaniment as a soundtrack! I also really like the deconstruction of the instrument, which really allows that close-up view of detail.
- Lola (Mother) on November 7, 2023

I just love the colors of this artwork. I would love to see it in a piece of stained glass that I could hang in the living room window.
- DAPHNE on November 8, 2023

Both blooms and joy are two of my favorite things. I love to think about joy as blooming. What a girl! Also, this rendering reminds me of the competing flowers (later combined) depicted on flags during the War of the Roses.
- Grandmama on November 4, 2023
This a a beautiful flower! The accents on the red flower really give it movement! I really like this art very much!
- Julie on November 4, 2023
Love your vivid red bloom and especially the concept of a "bloom of gratitude." All of us should be filled with gratitude for abundant blessings.
- Guin on November 4, 2023
The poppy piece is gorgeous! I am eager to see the scale of this piece because I will definitely want to display it. I love the intention behind this project, too.
- Lola (Mother) on November 3, 2023

I like the heart motif. I especially like the texture and patterns in the decoration. What are the dimensions? Could you wear it?
- Mary Ellen on October 22, 2023
Outstanding. I love it. Grandad
- Steve on October 22, 2023
I love the heart. There's simplicity in the basic heart shape, but there's an edginess revealed in the pigment and depressions. It does make me want shortbread cookies, though.
- Lola (Mother) on October 18, 2023

I kept thinking this was a cookie and I wanted a taste, and then I thought: that girl has painted a life-like cookie. Wow. Seeing your work makes me happy.
- Daphne on October 18, 2023

I do love your use of color and white space here. Also, the shape of the head and the expression suggests surprise. I kept saying, "Ohhhh" while I looked at it. Oh, Roxanne. You are so talented.
- Daphne on October 18, 2023

I do love the colors you choose. Very beautiful.
- Daphne on October 18, 2023
This is beautiful! The picture looks magical! I love it! I can’t wait to see your next creation!!
- Julie on October 11, 2023

This impish artwork reminds me of the fun colors from the 1960s and a show called Laugh-In. I like it a lot.
- Daphne on October 4, 2023

I like this image so very much, especially the colors. I can't wait to see what you create next.
- Daphne on October 4, 2023

This piece is genius! My eyes are first drawn to the smiling face and the promise of love. Around the next corner I see what might be the Sun, or maybe it is a large fried egg over easy. Either way I am smiling, too, eager to see the next bit, to be a part of Roxanne 's world.
- Mary Ellen(fan) on September 27, 2023

I really like the layers of blue, too. I am always amazed at the many layers of thought I see in your work, as well as the details in execution, of course. I could study this piece for days and continue to find something else to consider, like the waves of the watery Neptune, revealing and concealing in turn.
- Mary Ellen on September 27, 2023
Hi, Roxanne, I really like both of your pictures, but was especially taken with the Neptune piece. Love the colors and the way the cells of color move out from the center. Your commentary on why you like this subject is also very insightful. Keep painting and thinking!
- Guin on September 25, 2023

I feel quite honored to be privy to your artwork. I look forward to seeing more and to delight in the fact that you are able to enjoy expressing yourself through your art.

Roxanne, Your art work is fantastic. I love it. Keep up the good work. I love you. Grandad
- grandad on September 25, 2023
I really like that there is an almost 3-dimensional quality to this piece, which is especially striking given all the color. Interestingly, this piece also reminds me somewhat of Keith Haring's style. He's a favorite of mine.
