Hope, this is one of your best projects yet. The self portrait actually looks like you, with realistic human proportions. And none of the things that are on your mind is surprising - they are Hope. My only question is why Yiayia and Pops are not on your mind. (Just kidding. ). I also like the color scheme of your project.

Yiayia loves this art project and you

Hope, this looks like a fun project. I am viewing it on the day before Halloween so it is certainly appropriately seasonal. I like the way you incorporated your love of tumbling and gymnastics into the project. However I am very concerned that the backbone is disconnected from the hips. I hope his medical plan includes chiropractors. Pops

Hope, this is a fun project. I like how the thin white lines and black borders give a three-dimensional effect to the balloon animal. It looks like Coal is hav8ng a fun run at the beach. Pops

Hope, this one brought a big smile to my face. The pencil coloring is perfect and the black and white background makes the pencils even more vibrant. I also thought it was a good choice to go with “H” for Hope instead of “S” for Sophia.

Love this Hope. It reminds me of your new room. Love you, Yiayia

Hope, when I look at a piece of art, I try to capture my first reaction. For this project I saw two cylinders shaking hands. If you look at the top of the project where there is a spot of I see arms reaching out to one another, maybe because there is some black space around these strips. I am interested to learn how you cut the curvy strips and then wove them together. I looks complicated Well done. Pops

Hope, the thing I like the most about this project is the way you get the feeling of floating, which is good for a fish picture. The wavy yellow things floating from the bottom combined with the blue layers surrounding the fish definitely give a real dimension and depth to the picture. You will have to explain to me why your fish is saying “selfie” Pops

Hope, your brother Dean did this same project a few years ago and it is one of my favorites. Your version is different but I love it too. Maybe it is because my ancestors are from Ireland. I also love that the sheep have a river to drink from. From the art perspective, I love the color combinations - the green and blue shades are very soothing. Pops

Hope, This was amazing. Did you like creating a ceramic piece? Keep up your wonderful art work. Love, Yiayia

Hope, I understand this project was related to the Pantone color wheels. What I see are the four seasons - green for spring; a purple sun for summer; yellow for fall; and red for winter (and Valentines Day). Four artworks for the price of one. Nice.

Hope, this looks like it was a fun project. The shape of your hedgehog makes it looks like he is either running very fast or maybe he is in a wind tunnel. I love its wavy hair. Nice job. Pops

Love this Hope and so appropriate with Valentine's day coming soon. Love you

Hope, I love stained glass projects. When I lived in San Francisco before meeting Yiayia, I took stained glass glass. I then created several works, including a backgammon board. I like the way your artwork includes the solder lines that link the pieces of glass together. I also like the way you use bright colors(red, pink, orange) to make the heart jump out from the darker background colors. Nice job.

Hope, this projects makes me hungry. I am not sure if I want to eat a cherry pie with a lattice crust on the top, or possibly it is very neat spaghetti. Either way - yummy, not yucky. Pops

Hope, I love that all your art projects have a happy feeling, like your smiling snowman. However I am concerned that this snowman’s nose is so long, he might be a lying Pinocchio snowman, especially when compared to the small banana(?) in his hand. I like this fun project, but hope that winter ends soon. Pops

Hope, did your teacher know that you love drawing unicorns, not to mention hearts, rainbows, and stars? This one is very pretty with her long eyelashes, pink hair, necklace, and short bangs. I think she must get a lot of products from Sephora. She is also very mysterious with the green mask covering her nose. I love it. Pops

Hope, I do not think of fall as the time of year to see lots of rainbows, but somehow you managed to include rainbows in many of your projects. I would be interested to see a second version of this project where each leaf had only one of the rainbow colors. And if you use one color for the space between the leaves, the6 would really pop. Hope, this is another wonderful piece of artwork. Sometimes people think that if you have a dark background that the art will feel dark and gloomy. But I think the dark background makes your red apple, purple grapes, yellow pear and orange pumpkin even brighter. Well done.

Hope, it took me awhile to see the hidden name in your project - I was just enjoying lots of separate designs. The orange “P” was very well hidden. I also enjoyed seeing your trademark hearts and clouds return to this project because the bugs and spiders from the last project were just too scary. Keep them coming. Pops

Hope this like two projects in one. The background looks like a multi color tie-dye shirt. In the front is a black and white pumpkin with lots of clever designs, as well as a heart and curly at the top. I like it.

Hope, I am used to seeing your artwork with lots of rainbows and hearts in bright colors. This is a change, but it makes sense since it is a Halloween themed project. Spiders and bugs and ghosts in black and white ate very scary. Nice job.

Hope, I can always depend that artwork from Hope will make me happy, will include hearts, and have smiling faces. This one does not disappoint - and it also has that swirly dotted line that shows the path the butterfly has flown. That is a nice extra touch, even if it is not symmetrical.

Hope, this one is fun, colorful, and fills the screen with energy. I would like to better understand how you created this one. It looks like it was done on a screen that can replay a movie that shows all your steps. I love it. Pops

Hope honey, I love this It makes feel happy looking at it. I love the colors and the beautiful smile on her face. Love you, Yiayia

Whoa. That is gorgeous, Hope. Is it paper or clay? Can't wait to see it. I know you like butterflies. This one is so lovely, Love you

Hope, sometimes art teaches us to be patient. With this ceramic butterfly project, you start by shaping the butterfly shape, but you cannot see the finished product until you have painted and your teacher bakes it in special oven. I am guessing that the black dots and blue feelers were the last step in the process. That is a lot of waiting to do, but the end product is wonderful. I love the colors. Pops

Hope, I love the bright colors of the hot air balloon and the soft, fluffy clouds and birds in the background. It looks like the passenger is a pretty, young girl who I assume is you. Would you like to go up in one of those balloons? It would be fun, and this project is fun.

Hope Honey, Is that you flying in that hot air balloon. What an exciting adventure. love, Yiayia

Hope, I am viewing your picture on the first day of spring and it made look forward to the flowers blooming. I also like the way you did the green leaves first and then placed the four flowers on top. Very nice.

Hope, when I look of your art projects, I usually see lots of little hearts decorating the picture in the background. This time the heart is the center of the picture and all the brush strokes outside the heart draw your eyes to the heart. I really like this valentine.

Hope, I love your snowman. His (I think it is a him) body is the most interesting. It looks like you started with a circle, then folded it one way and used scissors to cut out the triangle shapes. Then you folded it the other way and cut out little hearts. Is that right? Then you had to cut out pieces for the scarf, eyes, mouth and nose and glue them on. That sounds complicated, but I like the end result.

Glitter snowflakes - I love it. The three different background colors also make this project more interesting. Nice job Hope.

Hope, I love your polar bears, both large and small. They looked more friendly than scary. I also love the deep, dark colors in the background. It makes it look like some rain or snow is coming soon. Nice job.

Hope, your artwork is getting better and better. This one is like many pictures in one. In the foreground, you have your main character in Mr Scarecrow, but there are lots of other pictures too, like the two big trees in the background and several different fields where corn and other things are growing. It tells a nice story. Well done.

Hope, Bats Love the Night made me think about Coal and Dart, our two Black Lab doggies. When they run around in the back yard, it is sometimes hard to see them. The great thing about your bat is that it is purple and the night has plenty of starts, so it is a little easier to spot the bats. Another great creation. Well done Hope.

Hope, I am glad they started sending your wonderful artworks in the new school year. This tree is a very colorful example of the fall foliage. I look forward to many more from my favorite first grader.

Hope, as you know Pops has a birthday coming up soon. I would love to have this very happy robot as my present. If you want to keep it, that is okay too. I just wanted you to know that I really like it.

Hope, you are learning some interesting things in kindergarten - symmetry is a very sophisticated word but I see that your picture looks the same on the left side and on the right side and is symmetry. I also like the use of primary colors (yellow, red and blue). Nice job.

This project makes me want to go to Crescent Ridge. Nice job.

Hope, this one was fun because on the very same day I got the email with a picture of your project, I was there when you got off the bus holding your actual artwork. I got to see how it really was a 3 dimensional piece. Exciting.
Posted 2 years ago by Pops

Hope, your most recent creation looks like it was a lot of fun to make. And maybe a little messy. The next time we see you you can explain how you made it. My guess is that fingers were involved. I also love that most of your artwork has hearts somewhere in them.

Love this Hope. Spring is here! love you

Hope, this sculpture is such fun. Googly eyes always make me laugh, but this colorful caterpillar has a lot of personality. I like that your last two art project have been 3 dimensional, coming off the flat paper.
Posted 2 years ago by Pops

Hope, the word that comes to mind when I see your project is “delicate.” The branches, the leaves and the flowers are all very delicate and beautiful. This is also very much like much of art from Japan. Nice job.
Posted 2 years ago by Pops

Hope, I love 3 dimensional art - art that comes up off the page. This project tells a story - it rained, then the sun came out, and that produced a beautiful rainbow. I also love that each color of the rainbow get bigger and bigger.

Wow! Yiayia loves this.

Obviously this is a nice snowman, but what I like are the little details like the soccer ball in her hand and the very fashionable belt she is wearing. Nice.

Hope, this is a perfect piece of art for Valentines Day. Did you ever notice that the heart shape is sort of like a butterfly shape? When I look at your artwork, I see lots of flying hearts, but I also see lots of flying butterflies.

Hope, I love your winter house. Because it is winter, I am guessing that the white puffs are snow flakes, though at first I thought they were clouds or maybe big puffs of popcorn. In fact when i look at the chimney and the big snowflake on top of it, I think there might be a tree on the roof of your house. Good art stimulates the imagination. Pops

Your mittens are very colorful, but my favorite part are the hearts in the middle.

This theme of this project was Mexican blankets, but I like to imagine other themes. To me this look a worm race where the straight pieces are the lane lines and the squiggly lines are the worm tracks.
Posted 3 years ago by Pops

Hope, Sometimes you can look at artwork and see different things. I am pretty sure this is a beautiful turtle with a very small head, but I also see a warm winter hat with little flaps for the ears. I also see a couple of smiling faces of the turtle shell. Very cute.

Hope, I love the bright orange background of your painting. When I think of fall, I think of bright colored leaves which are often yellow and orange, and of course pumpkins which are also orange. Nice job.

Hope, this artwork is very interesting. It looks like you used watercolor paints for the background and crayons or pencils to draw the turkey. I like it.

Hope, I love the bright colors in your painting. (They match the colors of the Ukrainian flag.) Is that big white ball on the right side a moon?
