Black hat and scarf contrast nicely with the woman's beautful face... Your pose is remarkably similar to hers... Must have taken a lot of time to get it just right. Many many people like Goth... It is a style that came after my time. As you say your gothic piece is a bit overdone. If there is a next time, lighten it a bit.
