A mouse was running around the zoo when she walked in front of a zookeeper holding a big magnifying glass. "My, what a big eye," the mouse said. "All the better to see you with," said the zookeeper. "Excuse my while I go run away," the mouse said, not wanting to see if the zookeeper also had a net to catch her with. And up the zookeeper's arm went the mouse, and it jumped onto her hair and crawled up under her hat. "EEEEK!!!!!" screamed the zookeeper, who never had a mouse hide out on top of her head before. Then she thought for a moment and said, "Look little mouse, this is a zoo, and we have a lot of animals. If you want to live here and run around with the other animals, that's fine with me. Just don't scare the elephants." The mouse thought about this, and she decided it was a pretty good idea. So she came out from under the hat, ran down the braids, down the shoulder, down the body, and down the leg of the zookeeper until she reached the floor. "Thank you!" said the mouse, then added, "My name is Trixie." The zookeeper said, "Hi Trixie, it's nice to meet you. My name is Brooklyn." Trixie then added, "I promise to be very quiet and not bother you." And Trixie the mouse was very quiet after that, because mice don't make much noise. The next time you go to a zoo and see a friendly mouse, it might be Trixie, so go up and say hi to her! And remember to tell Brooklyn what a great job she does taking care of all the animals!
