I made a house but I wanted it to be a castle. I made a wall around it and the left part is where people can stand guard. There were lots of steps to this project.

First I painted the background and we could mix some of the colors together. Then I drew with colored sharpies lines, shapes and patterns and cut them into strips. Then I glued the strips on another piece of paper and cut those up and put them into layers to make the flowers. This is called multi media.

Anderson and his class were studying the artist Hundertwasser. Hundertwasser was an Austrian visual artist and architect who also worked in the field of environmental protection. Anderson looked at one of his paintings as inspiration for this. It is a house with red windows and rainbow in the back.

Anderson explained this to me. He used oil pastels that he could mix around with his finger. He used purple and light blue together for the tree and the background he likes to think of as fire with ashes. It is an ash tree. The ground is green and yellow. These are V trees. He made the outline in pencil and then traced the pencil with glue. Quite an impressive use of many different things!!
