This artwork is a trip! Pun intended. The perspective captures a surreal but yet realistic view. Such a unique subject matter. Makes the viewer look closer. I like the fact that the photographer’s face (identity) is not exposed. That kind of adds to the twist of the story that the artwork tells. That, in my option is a great enhancement to the actual art technique. ????

Holy Moly! I just glanced at this in my email and I thought to myself, “ wonder why Liz is doing photography now” Once I realized it was painted, the wow factor came in! Very well done! I sure it was a bit of overwhelm to try to do all the canvases at once but by reading your statement it looks like you figured out a good system for that. I’m so happy you are in this art class - it provides challenge as well as accomplishment!

Young lady, I'm just blown away. It looks like digital art because it's so darn good. You're amazing. You never cease to shock and surprise me--I hope you know how talented you are. I know it's your dog so you probably want to keep the painting forever, as you should, but I think people would pay a lot of money for your art--especially like this. I think you have found your calling. Sending you so much praise and love and well-wishers for your amazing future. Bravo!

Wow! I’m amazed at not only the level of complexity in the assignment but the skill in how you carried it out as well. Your presentation of these not so attractive animals almost makes me convinced they are sort of likable. Great work!

This is amazing! You have so much talent. Your shading is really beautiful--especially on the bottom right hippo. I love the attention to detail, like the hairs on the ears of your darker hippo. I'm so glad I still get to see your artwork.

This just seems to portray all the many facets of a personality and the inner workings of everything behind the scenes of being a “being”! I like the organization of it all. You captured a lot without there being competition within the work. I’m very curious what all the symbols represent ?? Keep this good stuff coming!

Wow you are really getting the shading down for human bodies. The collar bone is awesome. I know that's a strange thing to say lol. She actually looks like one of my good friends. Love it.
Ps Tempera paint? No way?! How in the world did you do that? Tempera paint is so thin and see-through! This has the appearance of acrylic or oil or gouache or something. And even looks like it could be a cut-out of a magazine pasted on the background. Someone needs to hire you for this.
“Eye” love it! And the simple fact that you just produced it without intention is a great way to use your talent!!

Tempura paint? Are you serious? That’s a challenge as you said because of the drying time and color. You nailed it! Were you assigned a specific animal and accessories or was this free choice of subject?

“EYE” can’t believe the realistic features you captured on this! It’s so good that it’s kinda creepy to look at. As if somebody is staring back at me! Shading, highlights are all in the right alignment.

You paid really good attention to detail and it looks really great

I think the contrast in color adds a good definition to this piece. The blue swirls have a cool Van Gogh ish vibe to it! And, again, the contrast to the solid yellow area and the swirly area gives attention to the focal points. Doesn’t compete. Keep up the good work!

Your quote ”there is no right or wrong way to do art” is a very good approach to have; especially if you felt the project was a bit of a challenge. You’ve got a good balance and softness to your watercolor areas as well as the heavy and light of the doodles. The whole piece just gives a good gentle and chill vibe. That’s what I feel when I see it

My eye was immediately drawn to this piece, I love it!

Very intricate. I really like the way you executed the black rods on the right side of this illustration. The shading made it three-dimensional, resulting in the illusion of the rods going through the white dividers/walls.

Amazing.

How satisfying to read your comment about feeling your zen while working on this piece! I think the pop of purple highlights the contrast and adds balance.

I’m so happy your mom shared this site with me. It’s fun to see the good work you and your sister are doing. I like the contrast of the white brick against the shades of color in the name and the sunflower border gives it personality. The tap shoe is a cute hint of personality too.

Hi Liz! Great work on your butterfly assignment! I could quickly identify each of the elements. Your review stated that you felt the color element lacked variety; I feel the INTENSITY outweighs that. This seems an advanced assignment. Are you graded on this? I’m sure your instructor was pleased
